The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys star Steven McBee Jr. has weighed in on fellow Bravolebrity West Wilson’s drama with Sophie Cunningham over transgender athletes competing in women’s sports. “As a man, the transgender sports things doesn't necessarily affect me because if a woman wanted to come over and and play in men's sports, ‘Hey, good luck,’” McBee, 33, said on the Thursday, August 13, episode of the “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless” podcast. “I don't think any man should be really speaking from their perspective on things.” He continued, “I think the women's side of that are the only ones that should have an actual opinion on things or vocalize that. And for Sophie to say what she did, you know, all the respect to her for coming out and standing firm in her beliefs.” Wilson, 31, and Cunningham, 29, have been friends since high school and now cohost the “Show Me Something” podcast. The WNBA star, who is also an acquaintance of fellow Missouri native McBee, made waves earlier this summer when she commented on whether transgender athletes should be allowed to play in the leagues. “I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I’m like, ‘I never once said that,’” she told ESPN in a July interview. “I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think, with that, love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.” Doubling down on her comments at an Indiana Fever practice the next day, Cunningham stated that it is “really important to protect children.” Wilson, for his part, condemned Cunningham’s comments in a social media video that same week. “Transgender athletes in American sports is such a borderline non-existent issue. Right-wingers have convinced a massive portion of people in our country that these people are, like, a threat to sports in America, when mathematically it’s not the case at all,” the former Summer House star said. “By continuing to platform this — politicians, athletes, journalists, news outlets — you’re only isolating transgender people even more by making them seem like this giant group of people is a threat to society, a threat to sports, when that’s just not proportionately the truth in any capacity.” As for McBee, he made it clear on Thursday that he stands with Cunningham. “Obviously, West, there was no secret even before that which way he leaned politically and what he likes to promote. So, it's an interesting dynamic,” McBee stated of the podcast cohosts. “If they're able to put their differences aside and continue the podcast, more power to them. But yeah, I feel bad for Sophie getting it like she is. I've told her that over and over. I'm like, ‘Hey, respect to you for for sticking firm to your beliefs and not wavering from them.’”

Former Miss Earth Indonesia titleholder Putri Andriani Juficha has died. She was 25. “With deepest sorrow, the Miss Grand Indonesia Organization mourns the passing of Putri Andriani Juficha, Runner-Up Miss Grand Indonesia 2025,” pageant organizers wrote in a social media statement shared on Friday, August 14. “You were more than a titleholder. You were part of our Grand family, a beautiful soul whose grace, strength, and spirit touched so many hearts.” The obituary continued, “Although your journey with us has come to an end far too soon, the memories, love and light you shared will forever remain in our hearts. May you rest peacefully in the embrace of the Almighty, and may your beautiful soul find eternal peace. … May you be granted strength and comfort during this difficult time.” The pageant organization further offered its “deepest condolences and prayers” to Juficha’s family and other loved ones. “Rest in peace, Putri,” the statement concluded. “You will always be a part of our Grand family.” A cause of death for Juficha has not been publicly shared at the time of publication. Juficha, whose death was announced on what would have been her 26th birthday, won Miss Earth Indonesia in 2025. WASHINGTON — President Trump denied family members of sailors and Marines aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln were concerned about their loved ones Friday, adding that the aircraft carrier would soon be relieved following a nine-month deployment.“That ship is moving right now, or very shortly, and it’s being replaced with another very similar ship,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews before departing for an event on Long Island.Multiple reports have emerged in recent days that poor living conditions and a lack of downtime has taken a severe mental toll on the roughly 5,000 service members on board the carrier, which has been stationed in the Arabian Sea since January, before the start of combat operations against Iran. President Trump dismissed family worries over the USS Abraham Lincoln’s grueling 8-month deployment, claiming it has “not nearly” been long enough. The Challenge alum Tyler Duckworth has died. He was 44. “My son, Tyler, passed away earlier this week,” his mother, Joni, announced via a private Facebook message on Thursday, August 13, per People. “Cause of death has yet to be determined. I will post on Facebook about services as soon as his dad and I figure it out.” (The Sun was first to report news of his death.) Duckworth originally found fame on MTV as a cast member on The Real World: Key West before officially joining the Challenge franchise that same year. He won the Cutthroat and Rivals seasons of The Challenge and also competed on four other incarnations — The Duel, The Gauntlet III, All Stars 2 and All Stars 3. He most recently reunited with his former costars at a recording for the "Challenge Mania" podcast on July 31 in Minneapolis. (The comedy podcast is hosted by Challenge alum Derrick Kosinski and Scott Yager.) There’s trouble brewing beneath the GLP-1 buzz.As Americans embrace blockbuster weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy in record numbers, providers are warning of a troubling ripple effect: patients sliding back into restrictive eating disorders — and others developing them for the first time.“I think there should be a button that you have to click saying ‘I am consciously making a choice that could really harm my health,’” Dr. Zoe Ross-Nash, a licensed clinical psychologist, told The Post. “Like on cigarette boxes, it says, ‘This could cause cancer.’ OK, well, this [drug] could cause an eating disorder.”The solemn warning comes amid growing concern about shrinking celebrities — who may or may not be on GLP1s — and whether they’re stick-thinness may fuel a return to early-2000s weight stigma or the “heroin chic” look of the ’90s.Nearly 12% of Americans say they have used a GLP-1 for weight loss, although experts say the true number is likely higher. millaf (Nemchinova) – stock.adobe.comGLP-1s work by mimicking one or two hormones the body naturally produces to curb appetite, slow digestion and regulate blood sugar.As a result, people tend to feel fuller longer, eat smaller portions and experience less “food noise” — or frequent, often intrusive thoughts about eating.The medications have been widely praised for helping people who are overweight or obese slim down quickly, as well as for other clinical uses, including managing type 2 diabetes, reducing cardiovascular risk factors and treating obstructive sleep apnea.But Dr. Thea Gallagher, a clinical psychologist at NYU Langone, said the very benefits these drugs are celebrated for can also become “a slippery slope for some people.”“A lot of people with restrictive eating disorders — what they’re looking for is to not be hungry,” she explained. “So I think the idea is like, ‘Oh my gosh, wouldn’t it be nice to not have that food noise, because I’m trying to not eat at all, or really very minimally?’ That could be very dangerous.”While prescriptions typically require patients to meet specific criteria — like a BMI of 30 or higher — Gallagher and Ross-Nash said they’ve treated people with eating disorders who managed to skirt the rules and get their hands on GLP-1s.“I had a patient who was like, ‘Yeah, I lied about my weight so I could get it prescribed,’” Gallagher noted.Even when patients obtain the drugs legitimately, GLP-1s can still trigger relapses in people with a history of disordered eating.GLP-1 medications have the potential to trigger or worsen restrictive eating disorders, experts say. For example, the most common side effects reported by GLP-1 users are gastrointestinal problems, including nausea and vomiting.“I’ve seen people relapse into their history of bulimia just from food poisoning because vomiting is triggering,” Ross-Nash said. She added that many patients also stop eating when their stomachs feel unsettled.“So not only are we restricting because we don’t feel good, but then we’re also purging the food that is in our system because we’re nauseous,” Ross-Nash said. While GLP-1s are generally intended for long-term use to sustain weight loss, research shows most people stop taking them within a year or two. That transition can also be triggering for people with a history of eating disorders and even for those without.“When my [underweight eating disorder] clients’ weight is restored, they have a whole team celebrating them,” Ross-Nash explained. “When clients on GLP-1s’ weight is restored or they gain the weight back … they’re going to be perceived as a failure.”“Like, you lost all this weight and then it’s their fault, when, in reality, it’s the medication,” she continued. “And they genuinely learned no skills to support themselves in finding success.”Experts recommend consulting a mental health professional before starting GLP-1s and during treatment. Wordley Calvo Stock – stock.adobe.comThat perception can fuel a fixation on body shape and weight — a hallmark of disordered eating that treatment often works to shift away from, Gallagher explained.“The biggest challenge with an eating disorder is how much it just takes over your brain and your mental capacity,” she said. “It can be really like a prison of your own mind.”Even people who qualify for a GLP-1 and lose weight in a healthy way can face negative mental fallout once they’ve reached their desired physique.“I have a patient right now who has lost a significant amount of weight on a GLP-1 and it was probably amazing for her health,” Gallagher said. “But now I do think we’re heading into the territory where we have a bit of a phobia of food.”The effect is often reinforced by the positive attention people receive after slimming down.“I think a lot of people are afraid to gain any weight back, or they want to keep losing to keep getting the good attention,” Gallagher said. “That’s how a lot of eating disorders develop.”The prescribing information for drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, which contain semaglutide, instructs doctors to ask patients about any history of mental health issues before prescribing the medication.“Patient safety is our top priority,” a spokesperson for Novo Nordisk, which manufactures the drugs, told The Post. “Semaglutide’s efficacy and safety have been extensively demonstrated in people with obesity/overweight with robust evidence for improving health outcomes.”To further support patients, both Ross-Nash and Gallagher recommend taking GLP-1s in consultation with a mental health professional, not just a primary care provider — regardless of prior eating disorder history. “Weight-loss medication can affect anyone, so I don’t think it just has to be limited to individuals with an eating disorder history,” Ross-Nash said.“Talk about it with your friends. Talk about it with your support team. Talk about it with a therapist,” she continued. “And know you are so much more than your appearance and your weight.”
