Janelle Brown Stuns Fans with New Romance After Kody Split

Janelle Brown Stuns Fans with New Romance After Kody Split

Sister Wives star Janelle Brown surprised fans by revealing she has a new boyfriend after claiming she was not interested in dating following her divorce from Kody Brown. “Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Janelle, 57, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, August 18, sharing a photo featuring her new man. The TLC personality explained, “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed.” Janelle confirmed her budding romance has been “pretty wonderful” before officially introducing her boyfriend to the world. “Everyone please meet Pete,” she concluded. Christine Brown was quick to give her stamp of approval for Pete in the comments section, writing, “He’s such an awesome guy!!” She revealed that Pete and Janelle are “so cute together,” telling fans that Janelle’s partner is “a construction worker ‍♀️ like David!!” (Christine, 54, married David Woolley in October 2023 following her own split from Kody, 57.) As Sister Wives fans know, Janelle and Christine were sister wives after marrying Kody in 1993 and 1994, respectively, becoming his second and third wives. Kody was already married to Meri Brown when the other woman joined the family. In 2010, Kody married fourth wife Robyn Brown in a spiritual ceremony. He legally divorced Meri four years later to legally wed Robyn, 47, and adopt her three children from a prior relationship. Throughout their time as a plural family, Kody became the father of 18 children. He shares one child with Meri, 55, six with Janelle, six with Christine and five with Robyn, including two biological children. (Janelle and Kody’s son Garrison died in March 2024 at the age of 25.) In November 2021, Christine shocked fans when she announced her split from Kody, marking the beginning of the end of the Brown family unit. Janelle announced in December 2022 that she and Kody had been separated for months. Meri, meanwhile, confirmed her split from Kody in January 2023, while Robyn is still married to the patriarch. While both Christine and Meri dipped their toes back into the dating pool following their divorces — Christine considered herself divorced the moment she announced the breakup, while Meri got a spiritual release after the former couple's separation — Janelle wasn’t in a rush to find a new man. “First of all, I’m not interested in dating at all. I’m not even interested. I’m not looking,” Janelle said during a November 2023 episode of Sister Wives. “I don’t even look at guys or men. It’s just blah. It’s too much work. I don’t want to do that.” She explained, “I’m not going to be hanging out where lots of single men are or whatever. Definitely, [I’m] sure as hell not doing that online dating thing. I don’t get the whole swiping thing. I don’t get that.” Two years later, Christine revealed she was hoping Janelle would change her mind and try online dating since it’s how she met her husband, David. “I’m thinking Farmers Only would be the perfect one for Janelle. Perfect. I’ve seen commercials and it’s people that have land,” Christine said during an April 2025 episode of the TLC series. Christine noted that after Janelle moved to North Carolina and bought a farm with her daughter Maddie, it seemed fitting to date a farmer. “Maybe she’d like a landscaper. I’m just saying,” Christine teased. “I could come up with a lot of ideas.”

California Teacher's Bold Classroom Fashion Sparks Heated Debate

California Teacher's Bold Classroom Fashion Sparks Heated Debate

She’s a model teacher.A California teach-fluencer was slammed online for her playful TikTok videos displaying her classroom style. The Los Angeles woman, who goes by “HeyMissTeacher” on social media, racked up over a million views on a recent TikTok video where she flaunted her colorful outfit of the day.Set to Lady Gaga’s “Papparazzi”, the clip shows the teacher dancing in an empty classroom while wearing a babydoll dress printed with various foods, purple leggings, and knee-high leather boots. The woman’s food-print dress and brightly colored leggings were called distracting by some commenters. TikTok/@heymissteacherThe teacher’s look stirred up controversy, with some calling it inappropriate and distracting. “This is what “professionalism” looks like now. The adults in charge of forming young minds treating the classroom like a personal content studio,” an X account wrote in a repost of the video. “Then parents wonder why kids come home with zero respect for authority, zero attention span, and completely inverted priorities.”“Schools need to start enforcing proper dress codes on teachers once again. They don’t allow students to wear clothes that are considered distracting, so why are teachers allowed to do so?” another commenter wrote in response. “A classroom is not a place for a teacher’s self expression, it is a place for a teacher to teach, and if they cant figure that out then they shouldn’t be a teacher,” a third commenter chimed in. Some commenters suggested schools implement dress codes for teachers. TikTok/@heymissteacherOther commenters came to the woman’s defense, and were confused why the outfit sparked debate.“I don’t get why she’s getting hate? She’s covered, nothing inappropriate, she’s fun and being herself. She’s giving Magic School Bus vibes. My daughter would dig her 100%,” one commenter wrote.“I’m failing to see whats inappropriate about this? Her skirt is barely above her knees and she’s wearing leggings? Her dress has food on it?” another commenter wrote. “Your students are gonna want to be you when they grow up,” a third commenter said. Others jumped to the teacher’s defense, finding the look harmless. TikTok/@heymissteacherIt wasn’t the first time the teacher courted controversy for outfit choices. In a video posted August 5, she wore a crop top t-shirt and jean shorts to a professional development day at the school. “I remember when teachers were professional,” one commenter wrote. In a comment under the video, the teacher clarified that the clip was filmed while she was setting up her classroom before the school year began.“It says I don’t meet the kids till next week though. It should be clear I’m not wearing this while actually teaching. I’m just setting up my classroom,” the teacher said. The teacher wore a crop top during a professional development day, but emphasized that no students were present. TikTok/@heymissteacherThe teacher, who is missing one eye and wears a prosthetic eyeball with a star-shaped iris, further defended herself in a video posted Monday, explaining why she’s proud of not being a “normal” teacher. “I’m not normal, I was never meant to be normal. I lost my eyeball when I was five years old. I have to wear a prosthetic eye, and my prosthetic eye is fun and beautiful and amazing,” the woman said. The woman says she’s proud to not be a “normal” teacher. TikTok/@heymissteacherIn response to comments that her outfits are distracting, the woman said her bold looks actually prepare her students for the real world. “If anything, I’m preparing my students for encountering people who look unique, and who are expressive, and not having that impede their ability to learn and grow. By, the way, I teach high schoolers. I don’t know why you’re acting like I teach kindergarteners and I’m wearing a sparkling disco ball.”“Students who are happy and full of joy will learn better. Promise you that,” the teacher continued.Download The California Post App, follow us on social, and subscribe to our newsletters California Post News: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, WhatsApp, LinkedInCalifornia Post Sports Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, XCalifornia Post Opinion California Post Newsletters: Sign up here!California Post App: Download here!Home delivery: Sign up here!Page Six Hollywood: Sign up here!

Hilary Duff's Heartfelt Tribute to Hayden Panettiere Sparks Emotional Reactions

Hilary Duff's Heartfelt Tribute to Hayden Panettiere Sparks Emotional Reactions

Hilary Duff is paying tribute to fellow child star Hayden Panettiere after the actress’ death at age 36. “Sweet Hayden. Really tough hearing this news,” Duff, 38, wrote in a statement shared via Instagram on Tuesday, August 18. “We lost touch through the years, but I will always remember you as so hardworking and effervescent, with that big, gorgeous smile.” The “Wake Up” singer continued, “I remember staying up late, chatting and gossiping, and connecting because we were part of such a small sliver of people who actually understood the strange lot in life we were navigating ... so young, with no real idea how to make sense of any of it.” Duff had her breakout moment when she played the titular character in Disney Channel’s Lizzie McGuire at age 13, while Panettiere had childhood roles in the soap operas One Life to Live and Guiding Light and the movie Remember the Titans. “I so deeply wish this wasn't the end for you,” Duff concluded in her message to Panettiere. “Sending a heart full of love to your family, the many people you impacted and everyone who loved you. Rest easy.” Hayden’s father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed on Sunday, August 16, that the Heroes alum had died. She was 36. “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” he said in a statement to Us. “We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.” The Greenville Police Department and Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that officers responded to reports of an “unresponsive female” at a South Carolina residence, later identified as Hayden, and a possible “drug overdose.” First responders and EMS found a woman in cardiac arrest at the scene and performed “advanced cardiac life support measures,” but she was pronounced dead that afternoon. An investigation is ongoing. Authorities noted that there have not been “any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.” An autopsy found that “no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death,” the coroner’s office confirmed. The cause and manner of Panettiere’s death “remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.” Earlier this week, Spy Kids star Alexa PenaVega — another former child actress and friend of Panettiere’s — paid tribute to the Nashville alum and reflected on the struggles of fame at a young age. “Hayden, Michelle [Trachtenberg], Daveigh [Chase] ... my heart is heavy today,” PenaVega, 37, wrote via Instagram on Monday, August 17. “These aren't just names from my childhood. They're girls I grew up alongside, sharing a world that was exciting and also incredibly hard. We were kids navigating something so big, and not everyone had the foundation or support they deserved.” Trachtenberg, who starred alongside Panettiere in the 2005 film Ice Princess, died at age 39 in February 2025. Chase — who voiced Lilo in the 2002 movie Lilo & Stitch — died at age 35 in June. “Today, I'm grieving and holding their families close in my prayers and thinking of everyone still fighting battles we can't see,” PenaVega concluded. “Hug your people close today.”

Why This CEO's Bold Move to Texas Is Stirring Debate

Why This CEO's Bold Move to Texas Is Stirring Debate

“Doing business in the state of California sucks,” Hil Davis, a California businessman, bluntly told Fox News Digital. That frustration ultimately drove Davis, CEO of Digital Brands Group, more than 1,300 miles to Texas. The apparel and e-commerce company relocated its headquarters to Round Rock, just north of Austin, leasing roughly 70,000 square feet of warehouse and office space as it expands its collegiate sports apparel business.Davis said the sprawling Texas facility costs roughly the same as the company’s former space in Vernon, California, about five miles south of Los Angeles. And rent was only part of the equation.Davis pointed to California’s high cost of living, long employee commutes and the rising cost of doing business, including defending against lawsuits.Hil Davis speaks onstage during BeautyKind Unites: Concert for Causes at AT&T Stadium on March 25, 2017, in Texas. Rick Kern“You start to add all those things up,” he said. “It doesn’t work. It doesn’t make sense. It’s too hard.”The relocation comes as California wrestles with a much bigger question about whether the state’s costs, taxes and regulations are driving away the businesses and wealthy residents it relies on.That debate has intensified around a proposed one-time tax of up to 5% on Californians worth more than $1 billion.Supporters say the billionaire tax could raise billions for health care and other public programs by asking the state’s wealthiest residents to pay more. Opponents warn it could instead send major taxpayers packing — and take future tax revenue with them.California is already seeing taxpayers and their income move elsewhere. Los Angeles County led the nation in taxpayer losses in the latest IRS data, with a net 17,496 tax filers leaving for other states and taking nearly $1.9 billion in income with them. The losses extended beyond Los Angeles. Orange County recorded a net loss of 11,618 tax filers, followed by San Diego County with 9,401, Riverside County with 8,968 and San Bernardino County with 8,462.Those departures can carry fiscal consequences. When taxpayers move, the income they take with them can shrink the state and local tax base that helps fund schools, public safety and infrastructure.Davis does not predict a sudden stampede out of California. He expects a slow drip.“I don’t know if there’ll be, like, an explosion,” he said. “I just think it’ll be a constant leak.”Davis thinks things are adding up that are causing businesses to leave California, like high costs and taxes. Bloomberg via Getty ImagesCalifornia still has powerful anchors. Silicon Valley remains a magnet for technology talent and capital, while Los Angeles has a deep bench of creative workers. Davis acknowledged those industry “centers of gravity” are difficult to replicate elsewhere.Digital Brands Group will keep some production operations in Los Angeles after moving its headquarters to Texas. But Round Rock offered Davis a different equation with lower operating costs, a central shipping location for a company serving universities across the country and access to Austin’s creative workforce. He said permitting for the new facility also moved quickly.Governor Gavin Newsom attends an event at the Bridge Yard Facility in Oakland, California, on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026. Anadolu via Getty ImagesEmployees now have their own choice to make. Some are eager to follow the company to Texas, Davis said. Others have deep roots in California and may stay behind.Digital Brands Group has already made its choice. And as California debates how to tax its wealthiest residents, Davis says the real story is still unfolding, one company at a time.

Charles Esten's Emotional Tribute to Hayden Panettiere Sparks Conversations

Charles Esten's Emotional Tribute to Hayden Panettiere Sparks Conversations

Charles Esten is breaking his silence after his former Nashville costar Hayden Panettiere died at the age of 36 just days after she reportedly attended one of his shows. "Patty [Hanson, his wife] and I are stunned and saddened at the loss of our dear and beautiful friend Hayden," Esten, 60, wrote via Instagram on Monday, August 17. Esten starred alongside Panettiere in the hit ABC series, which aired from 2012 until 2016 and concluded with its final two seasons on CMT from 2016 until 2018. Panettiere starred as rising country music star Juliette Barnes, while Esten portrayed songwriter Deacon Claybourne. "I will never forget the first time I met her," Esten continued. "In a sound stage office in Hollywood, I was finishing up my very first Nashville audition. I had read two Deacon scenes before pulling out my guitar and singing two songs. I said my goodbyes and, hoping I’d done well, went to open the door to leave. Instead of swinging all the way out, the door bumped into somebody. Kinda hard." He went on, "To my complete surprise, It was Hayden Panettiere, who — in full Juliette Barnes mode — had been listening with her ear to the door. Instead of looking even a little bit caught, her face instantly bloomed into the most beautiful smile. Eyes twinkling, she clapped her hands and said, 'That was so good!!'" Esten recalled the way Panettiere supported him in that potentially embarrassing moment. "I can promise you that in that moment, there was nothing in the world I needed to hear more than that. I told her that, along with my Heroes-watching family, I was already a big fan of hers, and that I was grateful for the very kind words. It was her turn to go in, so as I went to leave, I said a jokingly cocky, 'See you on the set!'” He added, "I was, of course, many auditions away from landing that incredible role. But when I finally did, and showed up in Nashville to start work, she walked right up to me, pointed in my face, and with that magical grin said, 'See you on the set!'” Esten recalled that he and the late became "fast friends," often "having fun and laughing a whole lot" in between shooting emotionally charged Nashville scenes. "She was, of course, extraordinarily talented, infusing her larger-than-life character with all the heart, charisma, humor, whip-smart intelligence, and flat-out magic that were, alongside whatever troubles and pain she carried, a part of her own personal palette," he noted. "What a great gift it was to act with her, sing with her, and to just be her friend. She was always extremely kind to my family, especially my wife, Patty, who I’m certain she liked even more than me." "Together, we are heartbroken that she is gone, and praying for her family, and for all those who, like us, will miss and mourn her so dearly," he concluded. "God bless you, Hayden. Rest In Peace and Light" Us previously reported that Panettiere died on Sunday, August 16, at an apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina, from a suspected overdose. A resident of the building exclusively told Us that a neighbor shared with them that one of Panettiere’s friends was playing at The Foundry on Friday, August 14. The music venue is attached to the apartment building, which was why Panettiere was at the complex. The resident said she was staying at an Airbnb in the complex, and “there was more than one person staying” in the unit. Esten was booked to perform two nights at the venue as part of his Carolina Tour. Panettiere died one day after his last show at The Foundry. Authorities in South Carolina confirmed to Us on Monday, August 17, that police responded to reports of an “unresponsive female” at a residence, later identified at Panettiere. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office also confirmed to Us on Monday that an official autopsy had been completed, and there were no signs of trauma that may have contributed to Panettiere’s death. “On August 16, 2026, at approximately 1:51 PM, a 911 call was received regarding a reported cardiac arrest,” a statement from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office read. “First responders and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a female in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM.” Esten and Panettiere grew close while working on Nashville, and they remained friends for years after the show wrapped. Back in 2018, Esten exclusively spoke to Us about his bond with the Ice Princess star, recalling that they'd been "buddies ever since" they started working together.

The Unexpected Effect of Eating 5 Burgers a Week on Men's Cholesterol

The Unexpected Effect of Eating 5 Burgers a Week on Men's Cholesterol

No beef with these results. One of the leading causes of death worldwide, cardiovascular disease affects your heart and blood vessels, and the risk increases with factors like cholesterol and diet — including hamburgers, a summer staple. The next time you’re at a barbecue, though, feel free to add a patty or two to your plate, thanks to research on the surprising effects of red meat on men’s cholesterol. While hamburgers high in saturated fat can contribute to high cholesterol, one study found surprising results in men. WHstudio Leushin N – stock.adobe.comEating hamburgers too often is linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and heightened cholesterol thanks to the amount of sodium and saturated fat in typical servings. While moderation is key and a good old-fashioned hamburger can be made healthy with some simple swaps, one study is telling a different story about the health effects. The study, published in the journal Nutrients, took a look at men’s cholesterol and blood vessel health after eating multiple burgers during the week alongside a regular diet.Of 23 men who ate five burgers per week for five weeks, the researchers found that adding high-fat ground beef (around 25% fat) or low-fat ground beef (about 5% fat) didn’t harm blood vessels. The positive changes from the high-fat beef may even be linked to lower cholesterol. The team used flow-mediated dilation — a non-invasive ultrasound test — to measure how well blood vessels widen when blood flow increases.Beef with higher amounts of fat resulted in better blood vessel dilation, supporting proper blood flow and reducing blood pressure. Men who ate five burgers a week made with high-fat beef saw reductions in both blood pressure and cholesterol levels. New Africa – stock.adobe.comThe low-fat beef didn’t change blood vessel dilation, however. The researchers believe the reduced blood pressure is connected to the surprising effects the high-fat beef had on cholesterol, namely “bad” cholesterol. The data was collected from participants who had completed a previous study looking at the effects of high- or low-fat ground beef on cholesterol.Despite an increased intake of saturated fat, the high-fat ground beef lowered low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL, or “bad” cholesterol.)LDL cholesterol causes plaque to build up in arteries, narrowing blood vessels and increasing the chances of heart disease and stroke.Previous research has shown that diets heavy in red meat and animal fats raise LDL cholesterol levels, increasing the risk of heart disease. However, both types of beef also lowered “good” cholesterol that helps clear extra cholesterol from the blood vessels. The study was the first to find that short-term consumption of high-fat beef reduced blood pressure and potentially cardiovascular disease risk, countering the well-researched belief that foods high in saturated fat are unhealthy diet choices.Other research has found that switching to plant protein — specifically mycoprotein, a protein made from fungus — could help lower bad cholesterol by 10%, and may even have benefits comparable to those of the Mediterranean diet.Even eating white meat — specifically poultry — affects blood cholesterol levels in about the same way that red meat does.

Salma Hayek's Heartfelt Tribute as She Becomes a Grandmother

Salma Hayek's Heartfelt Tribute as She Becomes a Grandmother

Salma Hayek is officially a grandmother — and she’s marking the occasion with the sweetest social media tribute to the newest member of her family. “We are blessed to welcome the fourth living generation of Francois’,” the actress, 59, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, August 16, revealing the newborn’s first name — which, yes, matches her husband’s, François-Henri Pinault, and stepson’s, François Pinault Jr., monikers. Of course, the proud and newly-minted grandmother already has a nickname picked out for her grandson. “Although I will call him Panchito,” she continued. “He seems to love it, and I cannot love him more.” Hayek also included a video featuring the actress speaking Spanish to the newborn as she lovingly held him in her arms. The Desperado actress became a grandmother after François, 28, welcomed his first baby with his wife, Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck. Days prior to the celebratory post, Henckel von Donnersmarck announced that she and François were officially parents. “My husband (the world’s coolest françois) and our son( the world’s cutest françois) … our first month as parents,” she wrote via Instagram on August 12 alongside a series of snaps of her with her newborn. Hayek wed François-Henri, 64, in 2009 after dating for three years. Years later, the actress opened up about wanting to have a big family. (Hayek shares daughter Valentina, 18, with François-Henri in addition to being stepmom to her husband’s three children. The businessman shares François and daughter Mathilde, 25, with ex-wife Dorothée Lepère, as well as son Augustin Evangelista, 19, whom he welcomed with ex-girlfriend Linda Evangelista.) “I had a child late in life,” Hayek said in a 2017 interview with Red magazine about being a mother, adding that she “identified” with her character in the 2015 film Tale of Tales who had a “desperate desire to have a child and maybe feeling that you could never be happy or complete, that your life is not complete, without this.” The Oscar winner continued, “I’ve had that yearning, that longing, and that pain… I always wanted to have a lot of children, and I was not able to. My body, as a miracle, had one. The huge blessing I’ve had is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so different.” Hayek has been a doting mom to her blended family as she has celebrated her children’s milestones over the years. Last year, Hayek penned a touching tribute when Valentina celebrated her 18th birthday. “My beautiful dancing queen. Today you turned 18 !!!!! So many things have changed in your life, but you are always soooo you,” she wrote via Instagram in September 2025. “A kind passionate heart, a wise soul full of magic, a unique unstoppable force of nature with a witty sense of humor and stubborn tenacity. Some things will never chance we love you forever and although you were always ahead of your years you will always be in my heart my dream daughter.”

The Untold Story of Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia's Tumultuous Romance

The Untold Story of Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia's Tumultuous Romance

Heroes costars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia had a two-year romance at the height of their NBC show’s success. A 12-year age gap between the two raised eyebrows at the time, as Panettiere was 18 years old and Ventimiglia was 30 when they got together. (Panettiere played superpowered cheerleader Claire Bennet on Heroes while Ventimiglia portrayed hospice care nurse Peter Petrelli.) Looking back at the relationship for an Us Weekly cover story in May 2026, Panettiere confirmed that she was hopeful of marrying Ventimiglia back then. “I saw him as my partner and that it was going to hopefully keep going and evolving and lead to marriage,” she told Us. Following a tumultuous breakup in 2009, Ventimiglia said that the relationship taught him it was best not to date costars. (He married model Jarah Mariano in 2023, and they share two children.) Panettiere died at age 36 in August 2026. She shared daughter Kaya with ex Wladimir Klitschko. Keep scrolling for the full timeline of Panettiere and Ventimiglia’s relationship. Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia Went Public in 2007 While they’d attended public events together — such as Comic-Con — to promote Heroes, Panettiere made an early red carpet appearance with Ventimiglia when she accompanied him to the premiere of his short film anthology It's a Mall World. Ventimiglia had his arm around Panettiere’s back as they smiled for photographers outside the ArcLight Theatre in Hollywood on July 31, 2007. Panettiere was once again Ventimiglia’s date at the Race to Fight Epilepsy charity event at the Skirball Centre in Los Angeles in November 2007. Hayden Panettiere Addressed Dating Milo Ventimiglia in 2008 During an interview with People, Panettiere coyly addressed dating Ventimiglia without directly naming him. She suggested “little things are what counts” in their relationship before revealing one of his sweet romantic gestures. “One time, a boyfriend went out of town, and he left notes all over the house in places he knew I'd find them,” she revealed. Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia Split in 2009 Us Weekly reported in February 2009 that Panettiere and Ventimiglia had gone their separate ways after nearly two years of dating. A source exclusively told Us that there was a “lifestyle conflict” because Panettiere and Ventimiglia were “in very different places” in both their lives and careers. Hayden Panettiere Broke Her Silence on Splitting From Milo Ventimiglia in 2009 Panettiere addressed her then-recent breakup from Ventimiglia in a Seventeen magazine interview in August 2009, saying that she was leaning in to her feelings of “heartbreak.” “My instinct when I go through heartbreak or a bad situation is to talk about it,” she said. “But that's me; that's not everybody. A lot of people, you know, their instinct is to bury it and distract themselves from it.” Milo Ventimiglia Vowed to Never Date Another Costar In September 2017, Ventimiglia admitted to The Journal that the lesson he’d learned from dating former Panettiere and Gilmore Girls costar Alexis Bledel was to “never do it again.” “There are things that happen to you in your life that shape who you are. Everything I’ve been through from jobs to friendships to partnerships, everything has built me to who I am. You learn from it,” he said. “You learn a better way of doing things. It wasn’t until my mid to late twenties that the job wears on you, relationships wear on you.” Hayden Panettiere Said She Had ‘Great Relationships’ With Her Exes The Nashville star reflected on her high-profile relationships in a May 2013 Glamour interview without directly mentioning Ventimiglia. (Panettiere also dated Laguna Beach’s Stephen Colletti and shares daughter Kaya with retired boxer Wladimir Klitschko.) “I've always had great relationships and stayed really good friends with the guys I've dated,” she insisted. Hayden Panettiere Addressed Her Age Gap With Milo Ventimiglia In a May 2026 Us Weekly cover story, Panettiere reflected on investing so much into her relationship with Ventimiglia back in the day. “Every relationship I’ve ever been in, I invested my whole self in,” the Scream alum told Us. She went on, “It was a point of contention that I was unable to put the ‘I’ in front of ‘love you’ and at the time, I didn’t realize or understand why it made me feel so uncomfortable. I could only say ‘love you’ in a casual way. Being older, he was much more aware of what that meant. And that said a lot.” Ventimiglia allegedly broke up with Panettiere and then immediately took her back when she burst into tears. They split for good in February 2009. “One hundred percent [the reason he took me back] was only because I was over the toilet, hysterically crying. It was like my world had crumbled,” she remembered. “It was so out of left field, nothing that big or explosive had happened. Nothing had really gone wrong. Nobody cheated. I remember the look on his face being pure shock at how visceral and massive my negative reaction was, and he immediately took it back.” Panettiere writes more about her relationships in her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, out May 19.

Trump's Bold Claim: Vandals to Blame for Dead Grass at July 4th Event

Trump's Bold Claim: Vandals to Blame for Dead Grass at July 4th Event

President Donald Trump is blaming vandals for large spots of dead grass on the National Mall near the World War II Memorial, the same area where the president hosted crowds for a 4th of July celebration.Trump made the claim without providing evidence or explaining why he believes vandals damaged the grass. He shared a photo showing an area by the World War II Memorial with patches of brown and dead grass across much of the sprawling turf that was previously full of green grass.“Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.“Anybody who thinks the Reflecting Pool wasn’t vandalized should go back to Law School!” he continued.Trump had a large stage built and invited crowds to the same lawn for his Independence Day celebration last month. He is now blaming vandals for the grass damage. Crowds gathered to hear from the president and watch fireworks to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.Members of the US Army Golden Knights participate in a test jump over the National Mall on June 11, 2026 in Washington, DC. REUTERSPhotos from the celebration show a large bandstand and seating areas covering nearly the entire lawn Trump now says was damaged by vandals. Photos from subsequent days showed workers removing the structures, revealing brown and damaged grass underneath. The photographs show that event infrastructure occupied much of the affected lawn, but do not by themselves establish what caused all of the grass damage.Trump has repeatedly blamed vandals for damage to his renovation projects in Washington, D.C., often without evidence and contradicting accounts from his officials.Earlier this month, Trump criticized US Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro after her office moved to dismiss the vandalism case after newly disclosed evidence showed widespread liner damage stemming from a flawed installation and the rush to complete the project ahead of Independence Day events, undermining the case against the defendant. The remnants of the number “47” are visible on the grass near the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall on July 22, 2026 in Washington, DC. Getty ImagesOn Friday, an arrest was made in connection with vandalism at the World War II Memorial after the words “Clean hands dirty $” were found painted on the monument and bubbles filled a fountain.Felony charges in that case are being brought against Melissa Farris, according to Pirro.Charging documents in that case do not mention the once-grassy area Trump referred to in his new social media post. People gather on the National Mall to protest policies of the Trump administration, as well as Elon Musk’s influence, in one of over a thousand rallies scheduled nationwide under the slogan “Hands Off!” on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Washington, DC. Pete Kiehart for The New York PostAuthorities said Farris was previously arrested for camping on federal property a few blocks from the World War II Memorial, but not the spot referenced by Trump. On Aug. 1, Trump posted a different photo of the same area of dead that appears to show the numbers “86 47,” which federal officials argue is a threat against Trump. The numbers are not visible in the photo Trump shared on Sunday.Trump cited that image as evidence against Pirro’s conclusion, describing it as “a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass.”“There may have been some contractor difficulty, but the major damage was caused by VANDALS!” he wrote. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
