Lori Loughlin's Bold Transformation: Embracing a 'Year of Yes' New

Lori Loughlin's Bold Transformation: Embracing a 'Year of Yes'

Lori Loughlin is ready for everything life has to offer as she embraces her next chapter as an empty nester and single woman — and her style reflects that. “I would say that I'm feeling maybe even a bit more adventurous and playful in the way that I'm dressing now,” Loughlin, 62, exclusively told Us while promoting her new collection with LOLA by Laurie Felt debuting on QVC Monday, October 5. “I think I dress age appropriately and all of that. I'm not trying to be my daughter's age.” Loughlin — who shares daughters Bella, 28, and Olivia Jade, 27, with estranged husband Mossimo Giannulli — noted she’s "definitely leaning into having some more fun and feeling a little bit sexier" in her independent era, "but in my own way, what makes me feel confident.” The Full House alum added it’s been “really exciting and fun” to switch up her signature look as she grows into this new phase. (Us confirmed in September that Loughlin filed for divorce from Giannulli, 63, one year after they separated.) “I think I'm at a place in my life where I feel comfortable enough to put something together that maybe feels a little bit edgier or a little out of my box,” Loughlin shared. Loughlin explained that becoming an empty nester this year alongside her longtime friend Laurie Felt has also inspired a change in her approach to fashion and life. “We're both going through a transition. And we are embracing it and we are having fun,” the Hallmark actress said. Loughlin recalled a moment “a couple months ago” where she was at Disney World with her Full House costars and John Stamos pushed her outside her comfort zone and made her ride a roller-coaster. “I'm like, ‘No, no, no. I don't do roller-coasters,’” she remembered. “And he's like, ‘No, you do now.’ And he made me get on that roller-coaster. I was terrified. And I went on the roller-coaster and I had the best time. It was so exhilarating.” Once Loughlin got off the ride, she wanted to do another roller-coaster, revealing she tried four new rides that day and faced a fear she never thought she’d overcome. “I think that is symbolic of how I'm embracing life right now. There might be trepidation, but I'm gonna try it. What's the worst that can happen?” she said. “You don't like it or it doesn't work out? At least you tried it. And you might be pleasantly surprised.” The Garage Sale Mysteries star told Us that going on the roller-coaster was “symbolic of opening another piece of myself, going, ‘I'm ready. Let's go. I'm here. Let's go. I'm up for it.’” Loughlin revealed that now that her daughters are grown and out of the house, she’s decided not to “let the grass grow under our feet.” Loughlin and Felt are planning to put themselves first by taking a girls’ trip to London together. “We're just trying to be out there and live life, enjoy it all,” Loughlin shared. “It's the year of yes.” Loughlin, who was married for 27 years before her divorce, admitted “it’s [a] time of looking out for ourselves” and “putting yourself first, in ways.” She noted that she and Felt are “giving women,” but sometimes "prioritizing yourself” is necessary — and for the friends, that time is now. “It's a great time to do it, especially when you're on your own or you're an empty nester and your kids are out on their own,” Loughlin added. “We will always be moms, always have to be in the mix and ready to roll up our sleeves and be there.” That outlook also inspired Loughlin’s four-piece capsule collection with LOLA by Laurie Felt, her first collection with QVC. “She convinced me that we should do this. At this point in my life, I was like, ‘You know what? This is great. I'm up for a new adventure. I'm doing it with a friend. What could be better?’” Loughlin recalled while describing the design process. “I love to work, she loves to work, but the combination of getting to do it together was really what was most exciting to me.” Felt added that the collection is all about “comfort” and the ability to make people feel “good about the money that they spent with us.” LOLA by Laurie Felt, the four piece-collection with Loughlin, is available on QVC.

Alzheimer’s Breakthrough: Magic Mushrooms Restore Speech and Memory New

Alzheimer’s Breakthrough: Magic Mushrooms Restore Speech and Memory

See more of our coverage in your search results. What a trip. After a decade of cognitive and functional decline, an 80-year-old patient with advanced Alzheimer’s disease showed remarkable signs of progress. All it took was a single dose of an experimental hallucinogen to get her speaking more than she had in years — and that’s just the top of the list of her improvements. Psilocybin, the psychedelic component of magic mushrooms, has previously been touted as an effective treatment for depression, anxiety, addiction and PTSD. New Africa – stock.adobe.comAlzheimer’s, which affects millions of Americans, gradually destroys memory, thinking skills and the capacity to perform basic tasks. The neurodegenerative disease is generally regarded as a phase of irreversible decline, marked by the patient’s loss of autonomy, communication, continence, mobility and social interaction. Current treatment strategies are mostly supportive, and functional recovery is considered highly unlikely.Psilocybin, the psychedelic component of magic mushrooms, has previously been touted as an effective treatment for depression, anxiety, addiction and PTSD — but now researchers say it has the potential to be used in Alzheimer’s intervention as well.In this case study, published in Frontiers in Neuroscience, researchers focused on an 80-year-old Japanese-American woman with Alzheimer’s. Her condition had declined over the last decade and was reduced to urinary incontinence, speaking in single syllables and dependence on caregivers for mobility support. She was then given a 5 g dose of magic mushrooms.During the initial phase, she was agitated, sweated profusely and entered a prolonged sleep state that suggested unconsciousness. But around hour 19, she began speaking in full sentences, recalling life events she had been unable to articulate for years. In the days and weeks that followed, more incredible changes emerged. She regained urinary continence, even in the evenings, and began dressing herself. She was able to make and maintain eye contact, remember social interactions, emotionally respond to others and hold lucid conversations. The patients was given two doses of psilocybin, which were associated with increased verbal expression, humor and greater walking agility. Cannabis_Pic – stock.adobe.comAt a one-month follow-up, the patient remained continent and reported a positive emotional experience, telling those around: “It is pleasant to come here.”A subsequent 3 g dose of psilocybin was given to the patient, and was followed by increased verbal expression, humor and greater walking agility.Miraculous as the mushrooms may seem, the study authors note that the patient’s improvements were temporary and psilocybin did not reverse the disease, as her neurodegeneration remained. They did not specify exactly how long the improvements lasted. However, the research does demonstrate that some function believed to be irrevocably lost to late-stage dementia may not be gone but merely inaccessible — and that a mushroom trip has the potential to recover it, albeit briefly. The authors note that the study’s primary limitation is the one-patient model. It’s been previously established that the compounds in psilocybin allow new brain connections to form, and shrooms activate the brain’s serotonin receptors, which control things like cognition, mood and perception.Previous research has found that psilocybin could alleviate depression for at least five years after just one dose. The positive effects of magic mushrooms have prompted proud users across the country to take mood-boosting microdoses — or a fraction of what a standard dose would be — to get through the day.But the psychedelic party drug turned wellness secret also has well-known pitfalls, notably the possibility of a bad trip, which can include vivid, often frightening, hallucinations.Magic mushrooms can make the user see, hear or feel things that aren’t real, which can be distressing and cause accidents. At worst, they can induce psychosis, and those who have a history of mental disorders like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia are more at risk.

Karoline Leavitt's Move to Fox News: What People Are Noticing New

Karoline Leavitt's Move to Fox News: What People Are Noticing

Karoline Leavitt is making the move to Fox News after leaving her job at the White House. Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced on Monday, October 5, that Leavitt, 29, will be joining the network as a contributor, saying in a statement, “Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape. We look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all Fox News Media platforms.” Leavitt also addressed her new gig. “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at Fox News Media," she added. "I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House press secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms.” The news comes two months after President Donald Trump revealed that Leavitt would be leaving her job as press secretary after welcoming baby No. 2 with husband Nicholas Riccio earlier this year. “Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family,” Trump, 80, wrote via Truth Social in August. “Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy history, and conclusively win the midterm elections.” He continued at the time: “Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024. Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!” Leavitt later showed support for whoever would be chosen to take over her position. “It is a decision that is entirely up to him. Obviously, whoever takes this job, you spend a lot of time with the president. It has to be someone he wholeheartedly trusts and believes in,” she shared on an August episode of NewsNation’s Morning in America. “I will say, there's no shortage of applications. There are many capable people who want this job.” Leavitt said she has had many conversations with Trump about her exit. “I have offered to the president to continue to give him my advice and counsel in choosing the next person for the post,” she added. “It is a blessing, a privilege and honor to stand behind the White House podium. Whoever gets the job next is a very lucky person to work for this president at this moment in history, and I'll be here to help every step of the way.” She concluded: “Again, I will leave the decision to the president himself, and I'll keep my private counsel to him private. But rest assured, I know that he will choose someone who will serve this country and him and this White House very well.”

There’s very limited travel between the US and Russia, obviously.  But like anything else, something like that gets out, it could certainly spread,” the diplomat added.“So we’re watching and monitoring it closely. Anne Hathaway's Mysterious Disappearance: What Happened After 'Verity'? New

Anne Hathaway's Mysterious Disappearance: What Happened After 'Verity'?

No can deny that Anne Hathaway is a woman of her word. “‘Breaking News: As Promised, Anne Hathaway Vanishes Into a Plume of Smoke,’” a fictional headline shared to the pregnant actress’ Instagram account on Friday, October 2, read as she prepares to welcome her third baby with husband Adam Shulman. In a follow-up clip, the pregnant actress, 43, sat in a chair while getting her makeup done. “So, we’re heading out to the Verity premiere,” Hathaway said, rubbing her baby bump. “Verity comes out in theaters Friday, October 2, and then, on October 3 …” Before Hathaway could finish her thought, she disappeared from the screen as a graphic of a gray cloud took her place. Hathaway’s stylist, Erin Walsh, subsequently walked into the frame, asking, “Where the f*** is she?” Hathaway previously announced she would be taking a step back from the limelight once Verity hit theaters. "The movie comes out on October 2, and October 3, I’m going to vanish in a plume of smoke, and you’re not gonna see me until you have to,” Hathaway told Entertainment Tonight in September. “I’m definitely gonna disappear and take some time off.” https://www.instagram.com/p/Dd_pnKwKTD0/ Before Verity, the Oscar winner starred in four other big-screen releases this year: Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey and The End of Oak Street. While promoting her respective films, Hathaway announced in June that she is expecting her third baby with Shulman, 45. (The couple also share sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.) During her seemingly endless press tours, Hathaway joked that her unborn baby is a “buzzer beater” due to her advanced maternal age. “There’s always hope until there’s not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like it’s 1 percent to 2 percent,” she told Access Hollywood in July of conceiving in her 40s. “We just decided to see where life took us with a very, very healthy, realistic expectation, which was very low.” She continued at the time, “We’re overjoyed because we just know from personal experience that not everybody gets this, and certainly not when you want it — sometimes not ever. It’s a blessing that we do not take for granted.” Hathaway has previously been candid about her fertility journey. “The first time it didn’t work out for me. I was doing a play and I had to give birth onstage every night,” she told Vanity Fair in 2024, revealing that she suffered a miscarriage while playing a pregnant character in the 2015 off-Broadway play Grounded. “It was too much to keep it in when I was onstage pretending everything was fine.” According to Hathaway, she wanted to “keep it real” with her fans and publicly shared her rainbow baby news. “When it did go well for me, having been on the other side of it — where you have to have the grace to be happy for someone — I wanted to let my sisters know, ‘You don’t have to always be graceful. I see you and I’m with you,’” she added. “It’s really hard to want something so much and to wonder if you’re doing something wrong.”

Kim Kardashian's Surprising Comment on Dating Amid Lewis Hamilton Romance New

Kim Kardashian's Surprising Comment on Dating Amid Lewis Hamilton Romance

Kim Kardashian is opening up about her dating mindset when things turned romantic with former friend, and now boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton. “I was really single for five years,” Kardashian, 45, shared in a Saturday, October 3, profile with The Times. “And that felt great. I could focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved with. I really felt no rush. Like, I really didn’t feel empty. I felt like I needed my time. I wanted to completely heal and just work on myself. I wasn’t ready to open up. I really wasn’t even thinking about it. The universe works in your favour when you just allow it to.” When asked if she would like to talk about her new romance with the F1 driver, Kardashian told the outlet, “In the most respectful way, I’d probably rather not.” Kardashian and Hamilton, 41, were first linked earlier this year after their longtime friendship turned romantic. The pair have since been spotted together on multiple occasions, including Super Bowl LX and during a trip to Tokyo. In August, an insider exclusively told Us that the Kardashians star is considering expanding her family with Hamilton. (Kardashian welcomed four children with ex-husband Kanye West: daughters North, 13, and Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 7.) “They are really in love. Kim may want to have more kids with Lewis,” a source close to the pair said at the time. “They just get each other, they get each other’s quirks. She is really happy with him.” A second insider, meanwhile, shared that the couple are "super in love" and are "such a nice fit” for each other. "All of their friends and family are so happy that they are so happy together. ... They are both really driven and being on the same page about that definitely helps," the source said at the time. Since her divorce from West, Kardashian has also been briefly linked to comedian Pete Davidson. In September, Davidson, 32, made headlines when he reflected on his romance with the Skims founder. “I’m one of the survivors — the few and the proud. We’re like the Marines,” Davidson quipped to Variety about the men who’ve famously dated members of the Kardashian family. “Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game. One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.’ I found that very attractive and mature.”

Mount Vernon Mayor Faces Scrutiny After Campaign Law Violation

Mount Vernon Mayor Faces Scrutiny After Campaign Law Violation

See more of our coverage in your search results. The embattled mayor of Mount Vernon whose handpicked deputy police commissioner was recently charged with attempted murder also broke federal election law, according to the US Office of Special Counsel.Democratic Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard violated the Hatch Act when she sent campaign mailers stamped as an “important message” from the city in her push to boost a slate of her hand-picked candidates in the June 2025 Democratic primaries, federal investigators determined. The Hatch Act is a federal law first established in 1939 that bars state and local officials whose jobs are bankrolled in part by federal dollars from using the power of their office to try to sway an election.Mount Vernson Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, a Democrat, violated the Hatch Act, federal investigators said. Facebook/Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard“The language of these campaign mailers reasonably would lead residents to believe they contained official business from their mayor, compelling them to open the envelopes when they might not otherwise do so,” wrote Erica Hamrick, deputy chief of the OSC’s Hatch Act Unit, in the department’s ruling, which was obtained by The Post. Patterson-Howard endorsed five candidates for comptroller, city council and city judge in the mailer and even included a sample ballot for residents in the Westchester County enclave to “cut and take with you to vote,” according to Samuel Rivers, the Mount Vernon activist who filed the complaint against her with the feds.“Look at the letter — the federal government has now confirmed what residents suspected when they opened that envelope: The mayor used the power of her office to try to choose their representatives for them,” Rivers said — calling for the mayor’s resignation. But the feds only hit Patterson-Howard with a slap on the wrist and issued her a simple warning letter and “advised that if in the future she engages in prohibited political activity, OSC would consider such activity to be a willful and knowing violation of the law.” Federal investigators said the mayor sent campaign mailers stamped as an “important message” from the city in her push to boost a slate of her hand-picked candidates.Inside the mailers, Patterson-Howard endorsed five candidates for comptroller, city council and city judge. Still, the federal rebuke is the latest black eye for Patterson-Howard, who recently came under fire when her hand-picked deputy police commissioner, Jennifer Lackard, was charged with attempted murder for allegedly chaperoning her gang-banging son to a botched drive-by shooting outside a Bronx courthouse. James Lackard, 47, the deputy commissioner’s drug-peddling, ex-con husband who was also allegedly in the car during the drive-by, was on the run from police before turning himself in a few days after the shooting, according to police. Patterson-Howard — who made history in 2019 as the first woman elected mayor in Mount Vernon — had hired Lackard in 2020 to lead the police department’s Wellness Unit, a $125,000-a-year job reportedly created for her, despite her having no real law-enforcement experience. The mayor has defended the hire, insisting Lackard passed a “rigorous background check.”Patterson-Howard did not respond to The Post’s request for comment. Additional reporting by Mark Lungariello

Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston Spark Romance Rumors at Paris Fashion Week

Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston Spark Romance Rumors at Paris Fashion Week

Off Campus costars Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston are trading the rink for the runway amid their blossoming romance. Abdalla, 26, and Heuston, 29, made their public debut as a couple at Valentino’s Paris Fashion Week presentation on Sunday, October 4,where the duo sweetly held hands while arriving at the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève. Abdalla stunned in a flowy, lime frock which she paired with a lilac flower on her shoulder, while Heuston looked dapper in a gray knit sweater and charcoal-color trousers. The couple, attending the show on behalf of Valentino Beauty, each wore the brand’s new Born in Roma Rendez Vous Ruby fragrance. Abdalla and Heuston starred as Allie Hayes and Justin Kohl, respectively, on the first season of Prime Video’s Off Campus and soon sparked a romance off-camera. (Allie’s love interest is Dean Di Laurentis, while Justin is the crush of Allie’s BFF Hannah Wells before she ends up with Garrett Graham.) Us exclusively confirmed in June that Abdalla started dating Heuston after she ended her engagement with her now-ex fiancé, Jake Short. Abdalla and Short, 29, were together from 2021 until their split this summer. “Because of the immense curiosity about Mika’s personal life and in light of numerous erroneous reports, I can clarify that Mika and Jake are no longer in a relationship,” Abdalla’s rep told Us in a June statement. “They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.” Abdalla has not further addressed her breakup or newfound romance with Heuston as she remains focused on production of Off Campus season 2. She is set to take the lead in the next batch of episodes alongside Stephen Kalyn as Dean. “I’m just really looking forward to digging deeper into who Allie and Dean are,” Abdalla told Us exclusively in May of her character’s story line. “They both, kind of, have these fronts, these personas that are hard to kind of crack through. They are kind of stereotypes of themselves. But in the books, as we know, there’s so much beneath the surface of Dean, and there’s so much beneath the surface of Allie.” She continued at the time, “When it is time for our season, I’m excited to dig emotionally into that a little bit more, because, you know, we see Allie and Dean as their exteriors a lot in season 1. While that is fun, and they are super fun characters to play, I think as actors, selfishly, both of us are really excited to, kind of, like, get psychological.” Heuston, for his part, will not return for season 2 — but he hasn’t ruled out coming back to Off Campus in the future. “That’s above my pay grade, but I just hope Justin finds love and continues to be happy while writing music,” he told Us in a separate May interview. “Justin is following his heart. He’s a little lover boy at heart. I think things went the way that they went, but I think he’ll just continue to do that. He’ll probably go write some nice music about how heartbroken he is and then come back and try to find his love.”
