Obama's 34th Anniversary Photos with Michelle Break the Internet

Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, are celebrating 34 years of marriage with some new, never-before-seen PDA-filled pictures and videos. “Loving you just keeps getting better and better!” Michelle, 62, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, October 3, alongside a video compilation of the pair over the years. “Happy anniversary, @BarackObama. Here’s to many, many more years of joy, laughter, and memories to come.” In the video, Michelle — who met the former president in 1989 at the Chicago law firm where they both worked at the time — shared new photos of the loved-up couple, including a beach pic of the former president and first lady holding hands. Not to be outdone on their wedding anniversary, Barack, 65, also shared a sweet tribute to his better half on Saturday alongside a professional photo of the couple. “Happy anniversary, @MichelleObama!” the former president wrote. “I’m still the luckiest guy in the world to be with you.” https://www.instagram.com/reel/DeCcIKwxEXt While Barack and Michelle have been candid about their fairytale love story over the years and since Barack first entered the political sphere as a member of the Illinois State Senate in 1997, it wasn’t love at first sight for the couple. “And then in walks Barack Obama. And Barack Obama has always walked like Barack Obama,” Michelle recalled to Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts back in November 2018. “Like he’s got all the time in the world. He had that stride. I was like, ‘Dude, you’re cute.’ But in my mind, I was like … not even not interested. I’m not going to date one of the few Black summer associates, Robin. How tacky!” Eventually, the Nobel Peace Prize winner convinced Michelle to go on a date with him. The pair wed in October 1992 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, with a reception at the South Shore Cultural Center. In July 1998, they welcomed their first daughter, Malia. Their second daughter, Sasha, followed in June 2001. "What I value most about my marriage is that it is separate and apart from a lot of the silliness of Washington, and Michelle is not part of that silliness," the former president told The New York Times in 2009. “If I weren’t president, I would be happy to catch the shuttle with my wife to take her to a Broadway show, as I had promised her during the campaign, and there would be no fuss and no muss and no photographers. That would please me greatly.”

Janelle Brown's Unexpected Romance: The Surprise Everyone's Talking About

Sister Wives star Janelle Brown and her new boyfriend, Pete, can’t stop gushing about their whirlwind romance. “What happiness looks like,” Pete wrote via Instagram on Friday, October 2, sharing a smiling selfie with Janelle, 57. In the picture, Janelle sported a blue, polka dot blouse while cuddling up to her beau on a dock overlooking a body of water. Pete, for his part, donned an olive T-shirt as he snapped their photo. Janelle revealed in August that she had started dating again following her breakup from ex-husband Kody Brown. (Janelle and Kody, 57, were spiritually married from 1993 to 2022 and share six children.) “Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared. I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you,” she gushed via Instagram at the time, introducing her new partner. “And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed.” Janelle continued, “It has been pretty wonderful. Everyone, please meet Pete.” https://www.instagram.com/p/DeAR2lYyHg6/ Kody’s daughter Mykelti Brown, whose mother is the TLC patriarch’s ex Christine Brown Wooley, was among the supporters of Janelle’s new relationship. “I’m so happy for you!!” Mykelti, 30, replied via Instagram comment, while Christine, 54, noted that Pete is “such a wonderful guy.” In addition to Janelle and Christine, Kody was also previously married to Meri Brown. The former polygamist is currently only married to his fourth wife, Robyn Brown. As for Janelle, she was previously wary about whether she planned to date following her separation from Kody. “I’m not interested in dating at all. I’m not even interested. I’m not looking,” Janelle said on a November 2023 episode of Sister Wives. “I don’t even look at guys or men. It’s just blah. It’s too much work. I don’t want to do that.” She further explained, “I’m not going to be hanging out where lots of single men are or whatever. Definitely, [I’m] sure as hell not doing that online dating thing. I don’t get the whole swiping thing. I don’t get that.” Two years later and after Janelle’s move to North Carolina, Christine hoped to set up her former sister wife with a farmer. “I’m thinking Farmers Only would be the perfect one for Janelle. I’ve seen commercials and it’s people that have land,” Christine quipped on an April 2025 episode of the TLC series. “Maybe she’d like a landscaper. I’m just saying. I could come up with a lot of ideas.”

Paul McCartney's Surprise Performance at Taylor Swift's Wedding Has Fans Talking

Sir Paul McCartney commanded the stage at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded summer wedding — at the bride’s special request. “Sometimes you didn’t get the email, I’m sure you know that, but sometimes I ring them up and say, ‘Yeah,’ I’ve done that a couple times,” McCartney, 83, quipped on the Friday, October 2, taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! of frequent performance requests. “[Taylor] asked me to do it.” According to McCartney, Swift, 36, specifically wanted him to perform The Beatles’ 1964 hit “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.” “It was [her request], and ‘cause she was onstage, I said, ‘You should sing along,’” he recalled. “‘And you should sing it to your man, Travis!’” McCartney was among the famous faces present when Swift and Kelce, 36, said “I do” at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in July. “[Our] wedding was the best night of my life,” Kelce gushed during an August press conference. “I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us. That’s about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration.” For Kelce, he felt particularly starstruck to say his vows inside the famed arena. “MSG, man, I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the [New York] Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in minicamp,” Kelce said, referring to the pop star’s attendance at Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals. “I didn’t get the opportunity to go then, so it’s kind of cool to get to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues, [by] being able to get married in there.” He continued at the time, “I can’t thank the owners of MSG [enough] for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing that we wanted a private event and everything. The A/C was cooking, baby. That was the best part.” Swift, who donned a bespoke Christian Dior bridal gown for the occasion, has since been a proud wife as Kelce kicked off the 2026 NFL season. The “Patient Zero” singer has not missed any of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs home games this fall, even enthusiastically cheering, “That’s my husband,” when he scored a touchdown. “Listen, man. Proud wife, baby,” Kelce reacted during a September 23 episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “Gotta make my girl proud.” Swift, however, skipped Kelce’s September 27 away game while attending the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards and the couple supported one another from afar. Kelce even dropped a handful of “likes” on coverage of his wife’s Tamara Ralph corset gown.

Christa Pike's Botched Execution Leaves Her on Life Support New

Christa Pike's Botched Execution Leaves Her on Life Support

UPDATE — 10/2/26, 5:53 p.m. ET: Tennessee death-row inmate Christa Pike’s lawyer has revealed that she is unconscious and using a ventilator after surviving a botched execution earlier this week. Her attorneys filed an emergency motion, which Us obtained, at Nashville’s Davidson County Chancery Court on Friday, October 2, requesting that the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) preserve all potential evidence related to Pike’s failed execution at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution on Wednesday, September 30. (People first reported the news.) “As of last night, October 1, 2026, Ms. Pike remains critically ill and is being treated at a Nashville-area hospital,” her lawyers informed the court. “She is intubated, on a ventilator and remains unconscious.” According to the motion, both of Pike’s arms were “swollen, burned and blistered” when she arrived at the hospital. Her medical team is now working to remove pentobarbital from her system after Pike received two doses of the powerful nervous system depressant during the attempted lethal injection. “Ms. Pike’s experts have compared pentobarbital to ‘bleach’ or ‘Drano,’” her attorneys noted. “It is caustic, highly alkaline and burns upon contact, including skin, tissue and veins.” They cautioned, “Hospital staff are working to save Ms. Pike’s life and to clear the pentobarbital from her system.” Pike’s lawyers mentioned in their motion that they asked the State to preserve a list of key evidence at 1:09 a.m. local time Thursday, though they said they’d received no response from officials by the time of their filing. Original story: As death row inmate Christa Pike remains in critical condition, her lawyers claim she may have suffered brain damage during her botched execution. Pike, 50, received two lethal injections when she was scheduled to be executed on Wednesday, September 30, after she was sentenced to death for the 1995 murder of her classmate Colleen Slemmer. The attempted execution lasted more than an hour as those involved struggled to successfully give Pike the injections, her attorneys, Randy Spivey and Stephen Ferrell, said on Thursday, October 1, according to People. After about 30 minutes of struggle, witnesses’ access to the execution was cut off. Pike was transported to a hospital, where she is currently in critical condition and receiving life-saving care. The attorneys added that they don’t know the extent of the damage she may have suffered due to the lethal substance being put in her body, as well as possible oxygen deprivation. “It’s such an unknown: what was conscious, what will be remembered, what damage may have occurred to her brain from oxygen deprivation,” Ferrell said. “We don’t know at this point, where we are, everything we say, I think, would be speculation,” he continued. “But we may never know what all she was suffering through, either because she can’t remember it, she can’t tell it, or it overwhelms her in such a way that sometimes pain and suffering affect people that way.” Ferrell added that Pike had made “peace” with the possibility of her death, though said she was worried the experience would be painful because of her blood disorder. “It was her biggest fear, not death, but a prolonged death and that’s what happened, minus the death,” Ferrell said. Ferrell said that Pike even tried to guide the executioners on where to find a vein at the time of the injections. (Her blood disorder often makes it hard to locate veins.) Witnesses detailed the execution, with WKRN reporter Tori Gessner claiming that expressed being in pain. "At one point, she said, 'My arm feels like it's about to burst open,’” Gessner recalled during a news conference. “The curtains close[d] at first, but she was clearly still alive. She was clearly still breathing and snoring." Gessner added that Pike became conscious again and was smiling "really big" before she started to discuss "the one spot" that hurt on her arm. “Her [spiritual] advisor tells her to 'relax,' and she replies, 'I'm trying,’” Gessner shared. “She continues talking throughout this, before her breathing shifts and she starts moaning and snoring."

Taylor Swift's Bold New Haircut Has Fans Talking

Taylor Swift's Bold New Haircut Has Fans Talking

Taylor Swift cut a few more inches off her hair. Swift, 36, debuted an even shorter mane on Friday, October 2, via her official Taylor Nation’s Instagram Story. In the pic, the singer’s honey blonde hair was cut to her shoulders, seemingly with more layers than she had at the 2026 MTV VMAs on Sunday, September 27. Her hair was styled in loose curls with her bangs blown out over her forehead. For glam, Swift donned soft makeup including glowy skin, winged eyeliner, long lashes and pink lips. She wore a maroon sweater with a button-up neck and soft collar. The “Patient Zero” singer styled her top with tan pleated pants and a black leather belt with gold hardware. At the VMAs, where Swift took home two Moon Person awards, her hair draped slightly past her collarbone and was worn down and straightened. https://www.instagram.com/p/Dd_70N5NeNW/?hl=en Swift previously debuted a shorter haircut in August. On what marked her first public appearance since tying the knot with her husband, Travis Kelce, Swift’s mane was cut a few inches below her shoulders, which was a dramatic difference from her signature waist-length hair. At the time, her tresses were parted down the center and worn down with her fringe neatly styled over her forehead. She styled her new ‘do with a lavender Delphine dress featuring a low-cut neckline, an A-line skirt adorned with pink, sparkly florals and spaghetti straps. She made her look even more dazzling with a crystal-embellished Christian Louboutin purse, Aquazzura heels, a Cartier watch, a tennis bracelet and her massive engagement ring. Swift again showed off her haircut later that month while slaying in a navy dress with a plunging neckline, lace florals, and delicate gold embroidery while attending Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk’s wedding in Bath, Gloucestershire. For the event, her bangs were swept to the side and the rest of her hair was styled in soft curls.

Why Christa Pike's Failed Execution is Sparking National Debate

Why Christa Pike's Failed Execution is Sparking National Debate

Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike remains in critical condition and is receiving life-saving care at a hospital after surviving two lethal injection attempts on Wednesday. The 50-year-old prisoner, who was sentenced to death in 1996 for the murder of Colleen Slemmer, was administered two full doses of pentobarbital, but she remained alive minutes later. Her lawyer, Randy Spivey, told reporters that the execution team struggled for an hour to establish an intravenous line. He noted counting at least seven needles used on her left arm alone, with one needle appearing bent upon removal. Observers were held behind a closed curtain while she continued breathing, leaving witnesses unaware of the procedures occurring inside. Following the failed attempts, state Governor Bill Lee ordered a complete pause on all executions in Tennessee for the remainder of the year to allow an independent review. Christa Pike, the only woman on Tennessee's death row, was convicted in the 1995 death of student Colleen Slemmer, 19. Credit: the Tennessee Department of Correction The unprecedented situation has renewed scrutiny over the technical procedures behind capital punishment in the United States. In light of the incident, a video analysis recorded in February 2024 by Dr. Anthony Kaveh, a Stanford and Harvard-trained anesthesiologist, has resurfaced. His observations offer clear insight into the structural obstacles that lead to failed execution attempts. The core conflict in medical involvement According to Dr. Kaveh, a central obstacle in administering lethal injections stems from ethical guidelines governing the medical community. Major professional medical organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American Society of Anesthesiologists, explicitly prohibit their members from participating in capital punishment. Because doctors and trained anesthesiologists decline to participate, execution teams frequently consist of personnel who lack advanced training in intravenous access and deep sedation monitoring. This division creates major technical hazards during execution procedures. Establishing an intravenous line in individuals under extreme stress or with compromised veins demands precise medical skill. Without specialized practitioners overseeing the placement, execution teams risk improper needle insertion, vein collapse, or subcutaneous infiltration of lethal drugs, directly contributing to severe complications. Difficulty verifying depth of anesthesia Beyond placement issues, Dr. Kaveh highlighted the difficulty non-medical personnel face when attempting to measure a patient's level of consciousness. In clinical settings, anesthesiologists rely on precise monitors, vital sign trends, and physiological indicators to confirm that a patient is fully unconscious before administering paralytic agents or lethal chemicals. Without anesthesiologists present to monitor brain activity and physiological responses, prison staff must evaluate sedation using basic visual checks. When drugs fail to enter the bloodstream properly, an inmate can remain conscious while receiving toxic doses, causing severe physical suffering. Legal teams representing Pike cited these exact concerns, arguing that the prolonged attempt caused "unnecessary agony" and violated constitutional protections against cruel and unusual punishment. Political debate and legal consequences The failure in Tennessee has triggered sharp political disagreement over state execution methods. On X, Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn described the situation as "tragic" and called for the state to "bring back the electric chair". However, Democratic candidate Jerri Green, also taking to X, condemned the proposal to "bring back one of the most cruel forms of capital punishment" and urged a total moratorium. This incident represents the second failed execution attempt in Tennessee during 2026, following a May attempt on prisoner Tony Carruthers that was halted after executioners failed to locate a suitable vein. As state officials proceed with their independent investigation, Pike's legal team continues to push for her death sentence to be commuted while she recovers under medical supervision. Larry Nassar's Registry Status Sparks Controversy Amid False Claims

Larry Nassar's Registry Status Sparks Controversy Amid False Claims

Update 10/2/26 at 3:50 p.m. — Michigan law enforcement officials are disputing the report that Larry Nassar was removed from the state’s sex offender registry, saying the disgraced former USA Gymnastics doctor was never on the list to begin with. State police explained to the Detroit News that only sex offenders living in Michigan are required to appear on the registry. Nassar, 63, has been serving his sentence at a facility in Pennsylvania. "Information suggesting that convicted sex offender Nassar was removed from the Sex Offender Registry (SOR) by the Michigan State Police (MSP) because of the Smith decision is incorrect," Lori Dougovito, a spokeswoman for Michigan State Police, told the outlet. Dougovito added that if Nassar is ever moved to a Michigan prison, he would be entered into the state’s sex offender registry. Original story below: Disgraced former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar is among the more than 20,000 people whose names have been removed from Michigan’s sex offender registry. The controversial move comes after the Michigan Supreme Court ruled on September 9 that the state cannot retroactively apply its current registration requirements to those who committed sex offenses before July 2011. Nassar, 63, is currently serving a 40- to 175-year prison sentence for sexually abusing hundreds of young girls during his time with USA Gymnastics and as the team doctor at Michigan State University. He is also facing 60 years in prison due to additional child pornography charges. The court’s ruling does not affect his prison sentences. The Easton County Prosecutor’s Office released a statement via Facebook on Sunday, September 27, railing against the ruling, calling out Nassar and former Lansing doctor Kassem Hallak by name. Hallak, 67, was convicted in 2013 of criminal sexual conduct involving several female patients. He was sentenced to seven to 15 years in prison and has since been released. “The Michigan Supreme Court’s decision to eliminate [Sex Offender Registration Act] requirements for these offenders is deeply concerning. Our community, along with the victims of these crimes, expected the registry to provide a measure of protection and awareness — assurances that have now been removed by the Court’s ruling,” the statement read. “Reversion to the version in existence in 2011 was an option for the court and would have allowed for sex offenders to remain on the registry. Rather the court chose to toss the scalpel aside and use a chainsaw.” Since the allegations against Nassar first came to light, many of his victims have spoken publicly about what they endured. In 2018, 141 survivors of his abuse appeared on stage at the ESPYs to accept the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. “Speaking up and speaking out is not easy,” former gymnast Sarah Klein told the crowd. “Telling our stories of abuse over and over and over again in graphic detail is not easy. We’re sacrificing privacy. We’re being judged and scrutinized. And it’s grueling and it’s painful, but it is time.” Team USA gymnast Aly Raisman also spoke, revealing all the times Nassar’s victims spoke up about what they endured, only to be ignored or for his actions to be rationalized. “All those years we were told, ‘You are wrong. You misunderstood. He’s a doctor. It’s OK. Don’t worry, we’ve got it covered. Be careful. There are risks involved,’” she said. “The intention? To silence us in favor of money, medals and reputation. But we persisted, and finally someone listened and believed us.”

CIA's Weather Manipulation: The Declassified Files Stirring New Controversy

CIA's Weather Manipulation: The Declassified Files Stirring New Controversy

Declassified records from the Central Intelligence Agency have detailed historic American plans to manipulate weather patterns. The documents, which were declassified in 2003 and placed into public archives, discuss the controversial topic of weather modification. This involved launching rockets or using aircraft to disperse chemicals into the atmosphere to alter local storm systems and regional climate conditions. The 18-page report includes documents from 1965 discussing the need for increased funding for weather modification projects. Though the specific chemicals utilized in early experiments were not identified in the memos, federal funding for the secret initiative was scheduled to quadruple by 1967. That was the same year the United States began dispersing substances over Vietnam to trigger heavy rains, flooding, and landslides. The resurfaced report has fueled ongoing debate across digital platforms regarding historical military programs. One post on X claimed: "The CIA has been poisoning the sky and controlling the weather since 1965!" Included within the 18-page dossier is a letter from United States President Lyndon B. Johnson praising the operation. The endorsement followed an address given by Johnson at Southwest Texas State University in May 1962, where the former Vice President remarked, "He who controls the weather will control the world." During his presidency, Johnson oversaw two major weather manipulation operations known as Project Stormfury and Project Popeye. Cold War weather operations and military strategy Documents show that government initiatives were actively underway by 1965. Project Stormfury involved flying directly into active hurricanes and seeding the clouds with silver iodide. The goal of using the freezing agent was to disrupt the inner structures of the storms and diminish their overall strength. By 1967, military weather modification expanded into Project Popeye during the Vietnam War. Intelligence records indicate cloud seeding was deployed to artificially extend the monsoon season and disrupt enemy supply routes along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Operations utilized lead iodide to increase rainfall, creating environmental conditions that led to road blockages and landslides. Lead iodide poses human health risks, as lead exposure can cause fatigue, abdominal pain, kidney issues, neurological damage, and developmental problems in children. Declassified document from 1965. Credit: CIA Modern theories and public skepticism The United States government has maintained that historic weather modification research was aimed at weakening destructive storms and alleviating drought conditions in rural areas. However, online observers sharing the resurfaced files allege that historical projects point to ongoing covert efforts to alter weather systems, block sunlight, and impact public health. Much of the modern speculation centers on high-altitude condensation trails left behind by aircraft. While mainstream scientists explain that condensation trails consist of water vapor freezing into ice crystals in cold air, critics argue that airplane exhausts contain undisclosed chemical mixtures. Figures such as environmental researcher Dane Wigington and health advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have claimed that modern jet emissions contain heavy metals like aluminum, barium, strontium, and mercury. In April 2025, RFK Jr. stated, "I'm going to do everything in my power to stop it. Find out who's doing it and holding them accountable." Featured image credit: fhm
