Vice President J.D. Vance is giving his “pitch” to prospective voters ahead of the highly contested 2026 midterms, begging voters to give Donald Trump’s divisive administration “another chance” amid historically low poll numbers. “Give us another chance,” Vance, 42, directly pleaded with voters on the Tuesday, September 15, episode of the “All In” podcast. “Give us another couple years to continue to work on the amazing things that we’ve been doing for the past two years.” The former Trump adversary-turned-ally added, “Even if you don’t agree with us on every issue, the other party is consumed by craziness.” The vice president presented an eyebrow-raising midterm strategy during multiple media appearances this week, encouraging voters to be wary of the Democratic Party — even if they are unsatisfied with the various aspects of the Trump administration’s policies, including the war in Iran, high gas prices, inflation, cost of living, controversial immigration policy and an affinity for renaming monuments and rebuilding Washington, D.C. in the president’s image. “To the American people, I’d say, send these people [Democrats] packing,” he said in Tuesday’s podcast interview. “Put them in the mental hospital. Do not put them in Congress because even if you don’t agree with us on every policy issue, at least we’re motivated by common sense and American interest. They’re just motivated left-wing interest groups and radicalism and they’re going to do a very bad job if we give them power.” Vance’s pitch comes during a time where the GOP faces a gloomy forecast for November’s midterms. On Wednesday, September 16, pollster Nate Silver cited a “string of excellent polls for Democrats” with mere weeks to go before election day. The same pollster shared an aggregation of Trump’s personal popularity across several top polls on Wednesday, revealing that the president currently holds a 58.5 percent disapproval rating — which is only “up slightly from its all time low.” (Trump currently holds 38.4 percent approval, per Silver.) Despite his sagging poll numbers, Trump continues to ask voters to approach the midterms as if his name was on the ballot — even though, constitutionally, it cannot and will not be. . Trump faced criticism for his appearance at the GOP’s American Airlines Center in Dallas, where he asked delegates to personally pledge their allegiance to him. “Please raise your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States that loves us so much he can’t even breathe,” Trump, 80, said on September 10, per USA Today. “That I will go out with my family, my friends. I’ll do it anyway. I don’t care if I am registered or not, I am going to cheat like hell like they do. There have never been bigger cheaters.” The president went on to say,“I’m going to go out and get my friends, my family, and we are going to vote on November 3, or we are going to vote before that.” Later, he attempted to firm up support within his base to get out the vote on election day. (Trump has promised to send $5,000 dividend checks to all American adults if the GOP wins in November, though House Speaker Mike Johnson has since confirmed any payments would need the approval of Congress.) “You know what? If you want, you can vote Democrat, but I don’t think there’s one person in this room that’s going to vote [for them],” he said. “I don’t think so.” Trump continued, “You know what happens if you don’t vote? You go to hell, you know that? You go to hell, and I don’t want that to happen to you, so please go and vote.”

Here’s a tip, California — leave one. A shocking new study of tipping habits in the fifty states conducted by restaurant tech bigwig Toast shows California in last place — with allegedly stingy Golden Staters slipping well below the 20% most Americans are now expected to pay.Californians left an average 17.1% per transaction, the dirty data revealed — 17.6% per sit-down meal and 14.8% at counter service restaurants. California found itself in the bottom spot on a national ranking of tipping practices. Other impressive tippers were Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, New Hampshire, West Virginia, and Wyoming, all of which had an overall tipping average of approximately 20%.California isn’t the only state on the increasingly cash-strapped West Coast that’s slacking off in the server-compensation department. Getty ImagesAccording to the analysis, the average tip at a full-service restaurant in the U.S. was 19.1% for the second quarter of 2026 — matching the seven-year low reached in the same quarter last year.Americans have become increasingly fed up with the country’s tipping culture, as new tipping norms demand higher and higher percentages, according to reports.Tipping expert William Michael Lynn, professor emeritus of consumer behavior and marketing at Cornell University, told the California Post in August that the country’s anti-tipping sentiment is growing.“People’s attitudes towards tipping have gotten worse,” said Lynn, who has been studying tipping for over 40 years. “They’ve started to dislike it more and more.”According to Lynn’s research, 32% of people said they wanted tipping abolished in 2016. That number climbed to 52% by 2022.Diners are also being asked to tip in more situations than ever, including self-service kiosks and corner-store counters. This leads to guilt-tipping, experts say, where people feel pressure to tip even in situations were no service was performed.“People feel a sense of guilt when a cashier is standing there waiting for them to put in their tip amount,” etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore previously told The Post.“A lot of people don’t necessarily feel like a tip is warranted because the employee hasn’t really done much for them. Witney Carson is sharing a “controversial” take about Dancing With the Stars. “Just from seeing everything online, I just wanted to give my two cents after being on this show for over a decade and watching it since I was 11,” Carson, 32, said in a video on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, September 16, one day after she and dance partner Guillermo Rodriguez received the lowest score of the DWTS season 35 premiere. “This is not a dance competition,” the choreographer continued. “Yes, of course, us pros take pride in, like, making the best dance possible, and we want our celebrities to become better. If it were truly a dance competition, every single celebrity would come into the competition with the same level of dance experience.” Carson pointed out that Rodriguez, 55, entered the show with zero dance experience, while cast members like Jenna Dewan and Harry Shum Jr. have a background in the sport. “So it isn't fair, and that's the point. The point is to vote for your favorite, and that's why the voting system is in place,” she argued. “So, just wanted to give my two cents. Remember, it is [to] vote for your favorite. If you love to watch dance and you love to watch good dancing, that's what you're gonna vote for.” During the premiere on Tuesday, September 15, Carson — who announced her pregnancy with her and Carson McCallister’s third baby one month before the season began — danced the cha-cha with Rodriguez to Jean Knight’s "Mr. Big Stuff.” Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough gave the duo a combined score of 10 out of 30. Though Carson and Rodriguez, who is known for being Jimmy Kimmel’s late night sidekick, were in the bottom three and at risk of elimination, audience votes saved the pair from going home. It was ultimately The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Conner Leavitt and partner Adele Zaikman whose journey on the show came to an end. (Influencer Connor Wood and partner Rylee Arnold were the other couple safe from elimination.) After the live episode, Carson and Rodriguez exclusively told Us how disappointed they were in the low score. “I think, [for] this cha-cha, we worked on so much,” Carson said. “We really worked on the timing and not rushing it. I think that you know there were bits where we were a little bit off, but he got right back on it and he listened to what I said.” She continued, “He followed my lead and he performed and he had fun, so honestly, that’s all I can ask for. I’m so proud. The judge’s scores were lame.” Rodriguez added, “I’m not too happy with the score, but listen, I listened to Witney. I felt like I’m at home. I gotta listen to my wife, I gotta listen to my partner. She said, ‘Look at me. Smile. Don’t rush it. Have fun. Enjoy.’ I say Dancing With the Stars is hard, but I passed the first week, so I don’t have nothing else to lose, nothing to prove. I’m here to stay. NHL Prospect Austin Roest's Intuition Leads to Life-Saving Cancer Diagnosis

NHL prospect Austin Roest and his girlfriend, Milly Okabe, shared a heartbreaking update after she was diagnosed with stage IV cancer.  “They’ve said it’s incurable,” Okabe, 22, exclusively told Us on Tuesday, September 15. “However, I’m starting my treatment already, and I’m going to do everything I can health-wise and just keep fighting.” Okabe announced she was diagnosed with stage IV adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that starts in the glands that line the organs, earlier this month.  “It was so unexpected,” Okabe recalled to Us. “Austin actually plays a big role in how I found out. I had some flu-like symptoms, so I went to the hospital. They thought it was just the flu, so they sent me home. But Austin looked at me and said, ‘This might be something else. I want you to get looked at further.’” Okabe shared that she and Roest, 22, went to “a couple of doctors who kind of said the same thing.” She was prescribed antibiotics for pneumonia and “lived my life completely fine for six weeks.” “I went back for a follow-up scan, and they saw that the pneumonia hadn’t quite cleared up, so that’s when they got the ball rolling,” Okabe explained. “They were like, ‘OK, let’s get a CT scan. But it’s probably nothing. It’s probably scar tissue from something else.’” She continued, “We do the CT scan, and they found a couple of masses in my lungs and chest. That’s how we found out.” Roest — who was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft — said his “gut instinct” about Okabe’s initial diagnosis inspired the couple to be proactive about what was really going on.  “When she gets sick, she gets really sick,” he told Us. “Not just normal flu, she’s in bed for quite a long time. That’s kind of what intrigued me to be like, ‘This might be something more than just the flu.’ When we went to the first doctor and he said it was a flu, I knew for sure it wasn’t that.” For now, Okabe said she’s doing her best to “feel good mentally.” “If you asked me a month ago, it probably wouldn’t be the same thing,” she acknowledged. “But I’ve just gotten so much support, it’s hard not to put a smile on my face. Austin has been so selfless and caring and amazing. When he’s off the ice, he’s always texting me like, ‘What can I do for you? Are you OK?’” A GoFundMe organized to support Okabe in her fight has raised nearly $70,000.  “It’s been quite overwhelming with hockey going on and stuff,” said Roest, who is currently participating in the Predators’ training camp. “But I think that’s kind of what’s helping me get through all of this, just seeing all of the support and all of the people reaching out. It’s been really cool.” Okabe said the reach of her story has been surprising “in the best way possible.” “I’ve received messages from people around the world,” she said. “Cancer survivors have reached out and given me advice and so much hope and faith. Everyone has been so kind.”

The backlash has been seen around social media over the last week, but now it has hit the follower count. Sydney Sweeney has lost over 200,000 Instagram followers after she was featured in a controversial sports-betting ad, appearing fully nude to promote the prediction market Novig, per Variety.The “Euphoria” actress shared the 60-second ad on Instagram last week where she poses with various sports equipment, like footballs, basketballs and a soccer ball, to cover parts of her body.By Wednesday morning, Sweeney’s ad post had 1.2 million likes and 2.8 million shares. The 200,000 dropoff lost represents less than one percent of her followers, according to Social Blade.Three days after the ad was released, Sweeney gained 50,000 followers on Instagram. Yet, she lost 136,848 by Sunday and another 68,000 Monday.The ad has received a lot of backlash from those objecting to the sexualization of women in sports and also to women’s connection to sports being reduced to their physical appearance.British sprinter Amy Hunt reacted to Sweeney’s post after finishing fourth in the 200m final at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest.“Sydney Sweeney, this is what women’s sport looks like!” Hunt said straight to the camera.Four-time Olympic gold medal Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus also commented on the ad. “I can’t describe how infuriated I feel when I watch this,” she wrote. “Not only is it a kick in the face to every woman who has dedicated her life to perfecting her craft, but every woman who enjoys sports for what it really is – teamwork, friendship, dedication, excellence, unity. President Donald Trump is supportive of the Kennedy Center’s renovations — if his name can be added to the landmark. “The Board of The Kennedy Center today agreed, almost unanimously, to close the Building for Safety reasons, and so that it can begin the process of Reconstruction,” Trump, 80, wrote via TruthSocial on Tuesday, September 15. “The closing will take place immediately, however, the Renovation and Reconstruction, which is a very large and complex job, cannot begin until such time as the D.C. Circuit rules on the Board’s approved name.” The commander in chief continued, “If the ruling is a negative one, which it should not be, and is not overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, the Reconstruction and the Renovation of The Kennedy Center will not take place.” In his latest post, Trump claimed $17 million — that he allegedly raised — has already been put into The Kennedy Center account to keep it afloat. Earlier in the day, U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper explained that Congress would need to approve Trump’s name being added to the Washington, D.C., building first named after John F. Kennedy. “Simply put, Defendants cannot install memorials for President Trump or anyone or anything else at the Kennedy Center without Congress’ blessing,” Cooper said in the latest ruling on Tuesday via the Associated Press. Trump claimed the attorneys from the Department of Justice would be asking for an expedited appeal. The Kennedy Center board first voted in August to inscribe Trump’s name on the building’s facade so it would read “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Restored and Renovated By President Donald J. Trump.” If the Trump Kennedy Center Fund reached $100 million, another inscription would be added reading: “Endowed by the Trump Kennedy Center Fund.” Several members of Kennedy’s extended family have spoken out against any name change, including Maria Shriver. “Adding your name to a memorial already named in honor of a great man doesn’t make you a great man. Quite the contrary,” Shriver, 70, wrote via X in December 2025. “Putting your name on top of someone else’s doesn’t mean that people will speak of you in the same breath as the other man. Putting your name above another man’s name on his existing memorial… What is that about? Truly? What’s that about?” Jack Schlossberg, JFK’s only grandson, was also outraged by Trump’s actions. “Trump can take the Kennedy Center for himself. He can change the name, shut the doors, and demolish the building,” Schlossberg, 33, wrote via X in February. “He can try to kill JFK. But JFK is kept alive by us now rising up to remove Donald Trump, bring him to justice, and restore the freedoms generations fought for.”

I stand with Palestine and its people.” Lukas Graham also announced they would no longer be performing as a supporting act on the tour. “It’s hard to watch families in other parts of the world burying the people they love. We should be able to speak about war, about civilians being killed, about children who deserve to grow up. Wherever they live. Whatever flag flies over them,” the group wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “I love Ed, and I’m grateful for everything we’ve shared. That hasn’t changed. But I can’t put these words out into the world and carry on with this tour as things stand. We’re withdrawing from the remaining dates. I’m sorry we won’t be there. This is a difficult decision, but it’s one I need to stand by.” Macklemore, 43, commented: “❤️����.” Sheeran’s Loop Tour made headlines earlier this month when Macklemore performed an opening set at the New Jersey stop on September 4 and 5. The “Thrift Shop” rapper chanted “Free Palestine” and performed his protest track “Hind’s Hall.” Days later, the concert promoter for the tour announced Macklemore would no longer be performing. “We have been notified by venues on the upcoming U.S. tour dates that they will not allow a concert to take place with Macklemore on the lineup, which would result in the cancellation of the tour and impact hundreds of thousands of fans,” Messina Touring Group said in a statement to Rolling Stone on Monday, September 14. “After discussions with stakeholders, Macklemore will not be performing on the remaining support dates.” On Tuesday, Sheeran, 35, spoke out about the turn of events and said it was not his decision to have Macklemore removed from his tour. “I have spent this week trying to build bridges, to find a solution and unfortunately, was unable to do so,” he said via Instagram. “I know who I am, both as a person and as an artist, and those who know my heart know my values too.” The artists choosing to exit Sheeran’s tour say it has nothing to do with the headliner. Instead, they simply want to stand with the Palestinian people, who continue to face Israel’s response to the deadly October 7 terrorist attacks, which has resulted in the estimated deaths of over 70,000 Palestinian civilians, including more than 20,000 children, per the Palestinian Health Ministry and the United Nations, at the time of publication. “I don’t take the decision lightly. Ed has been a friend to me and has changed my life,” Aaron Rowe wrote via Instagram. “I could never thank him enough for this. But as Irish people, we know all too well about genocide, forced famine and violent occupation.” In a separate Instagram post, Irish folk band Beoga confirmed their exit from the tour. “We are a traditional Irish band who never saw ourselves playing in stadiums of that size, and that opportunity is not lost on us,” they wrote. “We have been friends with Ed for over 10 years now and will continue to be. We believe in dialogue as a means of progressing the plight of the Palestinian people.”

A Florida woman allegedly seduced and drugged a man she met at a casino in an elaborate ruse to steal his nearly $100,000 Rolex — a crime authorities say she’s committed against several other victims.Lynda Mae Crouse, 32, is accused of preying on deep-pocketed bachelors she meets out, flirtatiously convincing them to take her home or to a hotel and then drugging them and taking off with their high-end watches before they come to, according to Broward County arrest records. The siren was arrested Friday for the April 12 timepiece theft of a man she met at the Carousel Club in Hallandale Beach around midnight. Lynda Mae Crouse, 32, is accused of drugging a man she just met at a casino to steal his nearly $100,000 Rolex, a crime authorities alleged she’s committed before.  BCSOThe pair exchanged contact info before departing the club and the man later sent an Uber to Crouse’s home to bring her back to his place, according to court documents. The two then began to drink. But as the man stepped away to change his clothes, he began to feel “funny” and “extremely tired,” a probable cause affidavit states. The incapacitated victim said the last thing he heard before passing out was a clapping sound coming from his living room and Crouse excusing herself to leave, according to the affidavit. After coming to hours later, the man ran to check on his watch, having suspected that the clapping sound was the woman opening the lid of his Rolex box, the affidavit states. His worst suspicions turned out to be true after he found that his 40 mm diamond-bedazzled Rolex Presidential – valued at $98,4000 – was gone, the document states. The victim later identified Crouse in a photo lineup, according to court documents. The timepiece theft happened after Crouse met a man at the Carousel Club in Hallandale Beach on April 12, with the man sending an Uber to bring her to his home not long after, according to court documents.  Google mapsThe apparent femme fatale has four other open cases in Dade County in which the victims shared a similar experience of taking Crouse home and waking up out of a fog to find their pricey wrist jewelry missing.In one case, a victim’s toxicology report revealed he had been drugged with zolpidem, a sleep aid known to cause rapid sedation, confusion and memory impairment especially when combined with alcohol, NBC Miami reported. Crouse was charged with grand theft and her bond was set at $2,000, which she paid, records show. No attorney information was available. She could not be reached for comment.
