Prince Harry's Emotional Tribute to Princess Diana on U.K. Visit

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kept his late mother, Princess Diana, close to their hearts during their recent visit across the pond to England. “Summer Holiday ☀️,” Meghan, 44, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, July 24, sharing a carousel of family photos. One image is believed to have been snapped at Althorp House, the Spencer family estate where Diana grew up. (Diana’s brother, Earl Charles Spencer, currently resides on the property.) In the pic, Harry, 41, and son Prince Archie, 7, were seen carrying large white floral bouquets down a tree-lined path. Harry and Meghan’s 5-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, ran behind them, carrying a small purse in each hand.

Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 at age 36, was buried in the “Oval Lake” island located on the Althorp estate. It is not known whether Harry brought his family to visit Diana’s gravesite or her ancestral home. He traveled abroad from their home in California earlier in July for official engagements ahead of the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, England. During the visit, Harry’s family also reunited with his father, King Charles III, at Highgrove House. The trip marked Archie and Lili’s first U.K. outing in four years.

“Certain topics were off limits,” a source exclusively told Us of the reunion. “They [all] agreed beforehand that they would not discuss any topics making headlines in the press, including the court case.” Ahead of the U.K. trip, Harry had sued and appealed for enhanced security in England after he stepped down from his royal duties in 2020. He lost the cases last year. Instead, the July reunion focused on Archie and Lili.
