Kate Hudson's Wedding Dilemma: Why She's Hesitating to Tie the Knot

Kate Hudson admittedly has some concerns about planning her future wedding as her 5-year engagement to partner Danny Fujikawa continues. “I still am not married. I'm just engaged. And I keep thinking about [the] wedding and what are we going to do,” the actress, 47, said on the Tuesday, September 8, episode of her and her brother Oliver Hudson's “Sibling Revelry” podcast on iHeartRadio. “Every time we started thinking about who we have to invite and Danny's like, ‘I just want a small wedding.’ Our family alone is like 50 people.” Kate explained to guests Joey King and Hunter King that her and Oliver’s family is “huge.” “We've got, like, a million kids. There's a million uncles and aunts and cousins,” she added. Kate also admitted that the price tag attached to her future nuptials is also a factor in why she and Fujikawa have been taking their time when it comes to setting an official date. “That's part of why I don't want to get married,” she confessed. “It’s too expensive.” Kate and Fujikawa, 40, started dating in 2016 and welcomed daughter Rani Rose, 7, in October 2018. (The Running Point actress is also mother to sons Ryder, 22, and Bingham, 14, whom she shares with ex husband Chris Robinson and ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, respectively.) After five years of dating, Fujikawa popped the question in September 2021. "Let's go! ��‍♀️������‍♂️," Kate wrote via Instagram while showing off her engagement ring in a sweet photo. Two months later, Kate opened up about how daunting it can be to plan a wedding. "You know what I’m doing? I’m pre-planning the planning. Just kind of thinking of what we want to do and then I'm going back and forth between like, ‘What is this really going to look like?’” she told Entertainment Tonight, comparing the process to her 2009 rom-com Bride Wars. "Obviously, we’re so excited. But the idea of planning a wedding is, like, a lot. It's a lot. I made a whole movie about it." Kate echoed similar sentiments two years later, when she and Fujikawa were vexed on what kind of wedding to have. "We do sometimes go back and forth with the traditional Japanese wedding ceremony, which would be really beautiful and quite emotional for Danny, seeing as his dad is gone," she said during a February 2023 appearance on the "Table for Two" podcast.. "It'll totally be a destination wedding. It'll be such an adventure that people will really want to have to come to show up. To me, those are always the most fun weddings. Like, if you really want to be there, you'll be there. ... If someone's like, 'I can't really be there,' then I don't want you there. That's all I got right now. That's all I got for the wedding."

Billy Joel is opening up about navigating a recent diagnosis. “I noticed that my balance was not good. I had this sense of being on a boat, like this rocking motion,” Joel, 77, explained on Wednesday, September 9, during SiriusXM’s The Billy Joel Channel. “I wasn't steady on my feet. I didn't know why that was and I went to meet with the neurologist, and I was diagnosed with having something called normal pressure hydrocephalus, which they used to call water on the brain.” Normal pressure hydrocephalus is a condition that occurs when cerebrospinal fluid builds up inside your skull and puts pressure on the brain, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The condition typically occurs in people over the age of 65 and is often treatable, sometimes reversible. “Nobody's really sure what causes it, but they're able to diagnose it and I heard this and I said, ‘Oh, well, what does that mean?’” he said. "’Well, you know, it could be progressive. It could get worse, but what we recommend is that you implant a shunt in your brain.’ I said, ‘Well, what does that entail?’ ‘Well, we drill a hole through your skull and we stick a shunt inside your brain.’ I said, ‘Nah, I think I'll pass on that.’ I didn't want to do that.” Joel, however, “read up on it” and realized that the shunt — which is a flexible plastic tube surgically placed in the brain to drain fluid and alleviate pressure — could “help improve your balance and can help your memory.” “You know, I don't want to lose my marbles,” he said. “It's hard to tell what's age and what's a condition, so I agreed to do the shunt and I had a surgery, and they implanted a shunt in my brain and it actually improved things. My memory got better, my balance got a little better, my ability to function was better.” He continued, “And I realized, and the doctors told me this, because of my job, which is playing rock ’n’ roll music very loud, that it was giving me something like a concussion every time I did a show. It was causing damage to my brain nerves and I could be losing more brain cells the more I played, the more shows I did and I realized that means I shouldn't be doing this right now. I got to improve.” Joel shared that his doctors don’t want him to “stress too much,” adding that he’s undergoing physical therapy. “I'm doing whatever it is they tell me to do because I don't want to lose it, you know?” he said. “So, I'm always testing myself. I know people have heard, ‘Oh, he's got a brain disorder,’ and I'm OK. I just want people to know, don't worry about me. I'm not going anywhere. I'm here. I'm still here.”

KJ Biermann's Legal Battle: Will He Avoid Adult Charges?

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., is seeking to avoid being tried as an adult following his sexual assault and sodomy arrest. KJ’s attorney filed a motion on Tuesday, September 8, to transfer the case to juvenile court and “for confidentiality proceedings,” according to court records viewed by Us. If the petition is granted, KJ wouldn’t be prosecuted as an adult. He was indicted on September 3 for aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16. (KJ was arrested in August for aggravated sexual assault and aggravated sodomy but vehemently denied the accusations. He has not been arrested for the remaining charges in the indictment.) Following his arrest, KJ was remanded to Atlanta’s Regional Youth Detention Center ahead of a bond hearing on Friday, September 11. He will be arraigned next month. KJ’s lawyer, Jason Sheffield, told Page Six on Tuesday that his client plans to “enter a not guilty plea to all charges” during his arraignment. “It is difficult to comprehend that a 14- or 15-year-old child can be held in detention for a month or longer simply waiting for a bond hearing,” Sheffield noted in a statement. “But that detention is a direct consequence of the detective’s decision to arrest him on charges of this magnitude.” Us has reached out for comment. KJ has not presently entered a plea in connection to the case. (Zolciak, 48, and estranged husband Kroy, 40, also share son Kash, 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, both 12. The former NFL star also adopted Zolciak’s two daughters from a previous relationship, Brielle, 29, and Ariana, 24, upon their wedding.) “First and foremost, this is not the kind of information that should be for public dissemination. These are juveniles,” Sheffield told Us in a statement last month. “Secondly, my client is 100 percent innocent and tried to present evidence to the arresting officer, including a passed polygraph by a notable and respected sex offender polygrapher.” Sheffield added at the time, “Additionally, the officer’s report notes the [Georgia Bureau of Investigation] found no male DNA on or inside the areas the alleged victim claimed she was assaulted. Had the officer sat down with me, I feel certain she would’ve never made an arrest.” Zolciak, for her part, has similarly denounced the accusations. “The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” Zolciak told Us in a statement of her own in August. “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged. My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.” The Bravo alum continued, “False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Every legitimate allegation deserves to be taken seriously and investigated based on the facts and evidence. Joy-Anna Duggar is getting candid about the decision to expand her family further amid her pregnancy with baby No. 4. “Even in the pregnancy, I am trying to enjoy it, even though it seems like it’s been fast,” Joy-Anna, 28, told sister Jinger Duggar on the Wednesday, September 9, episode of their “Call Your Sister” podcast. “It’s been harder, but I don’t know how many more times I’m going to do this.” Joy-Anna and her husband, Austin Forsyth, announced earlier this month that they are expecting again. The Counting On alum and Austin, 32, are already the parents of sons Gideon, 8, and Gunner, 3, as well as daughter Evelyn, 5. (Joy-Anna previously suffered a miscarriage in 2019, naming her late daughter Annabell.) Speaking on the siblings’ podcast, Joy-Anna confessed that she initially felt “pressure” to have a large family like the one she grew up in. (Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are famously parents of 19.) “I felt that in our first pregnancy, and Austin and I have had to have real conversations about [it] because I feel like it’s really important,” she acknowledged. “Austin, [during] this pregnancy, for the first time was like, ‘Do you know what? We might be done after this one. I don’t know, how do you feel?’” As a result, Joy-Anna began discussing the possibilities that baby No. 4 will be her last. “It’s crazy to me that we might already be there, like, we’re done with this phase of life, so that part of it is bittersweet,” the former TLC star added. “Right now, I don’t feel like I would be done with this one. Four or five have always been … in my mind.” Like her younger sister, Jinger, 32, “assumed” she’d have “as many kids as possible” before becoming a mom. “When [Jeremy Vuolo and I] were engaged, we were talking about how many kids we wanted, and we were also watching through Bill Gothard’s videos and pausing it,” Jinger said, referring to the controversial leader of her family’s IBLP religion. “Initially, that was one of the bigger things I was thinking through. I was never the one that wanted to babysit everyone’s kids. … I loved being around kids, but I wasn’t like, ‘I’m going to have 50 kids of my own.’ But I thought, ‘That’s what everybody’s gonna do.’” Upon discussing the matter with Jeremy, 39, Jinger ultimately had a change of heart. “Children are a blessing from the Lord, but [that] doesn’t mean you have to have as many as possible, then that was actually a different perspective for me,” she said. “[That] gave me more joy going into having my kids. I was like, ‘Thank you, Lord, for these kids; they are a blessing.’ I don’t want to do anything out of convenience, but I also want to be present and involved in my kids’ lives in a deep way where each kid feels taken care of.” Jinger and Jeremy share daughters Evangeline, 8, and Felicity, 5, and son Finn, 17 months.

Tragic Turn: Pregnant Mom Declared Brain Dead After Shooting

A mother in California was declared brain dead after she was shot in the head while 14 weeks pregnant with her second baby. Adriana Jimenez was shot while sitting in a car alongside her sister Maria Fernanda Jimenez outside of their apartment in the Canoga Park neighborhood on August 23. Her family has since announced that she has officially been declared brain dead. The siblings’ uncle told KABC on Thursday, September 3, that both Adriana and Maria Fernanda were shot by the gunman. Maria Fernanda was shot twice and is expected to recover. Adriana was shot in the head. Adriana also miscarried after the shooting, seemingly a result of her injuries. “Sadly, her baby also died,” the uncle told the outlet. The Los Angeles Police Department is still in the process of investigating the shooting and the gunman has been arrested. However, the name of the suspect or their exact relationship to the victims has not yet been publicly announced. “The suspect is someone who is close to the family,” the uncle said. “He is known to the family. We don’t understand why he made that decision.” The uncle went on to add that the shooting “has nothing to do with gangs,” but a suspected motive is not currently known. He then said that the situation was “tragic” and that he “couldn’t believe” that it happened.The family is now dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy, including caring for Adriana’s 6-year-old daughter. "That's the hardest part, knowing the little girl calls out for her mom and cries for her," the uncle said. "We know that we have to be strong, unite as a family and move past this tragedy." Following her killing, Adriana’s family set up a GoFundMe so that her remains can either be cremated or returned back to her native El Salvador. The fundraiser has earned more than half of its $10,000 goal as of time of publication. Adriana was remembered as “the loving mother of a beautiful 6-year-old daughter who will now have to grow up without her mom” on the fundraising page. “No child should have to experience a loss like this,” the GoFundMe page added. “And our hearts are shattered knowing the difficult road that lies ahead for her.” The LAPD told Us that the department is unable to provide any updates in the case due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
