Charlie Kirk's Mother Breaks Silence on Alleged Feud with Widow Erika New

Charlie Kirk's Mother Breaks Silence on Alleged Feud with Widow Erika

Charlie Kirk’s mother, Kathryn Kirk, has broken her silence on rumors that she’s feuding with his widow, Erika Kirk. “We knew Charlie in a way that no one else did,” Kathryn told Vanity Fair in an interview with Erika, 37, published on Tuesday, September 29 — just over one year after the conservative activist was shot and killed at Utah Valley University while speaking at an event for his non-profit organization, Turning Point USA, which was taken over by his wife after his death. “We can look at each other’s eyes, and we know the depth of our despair,” Kathryn continued of her relationship with Erika. Addressing public criticism of Erika for taking over as CEO of TPUSA and rumors that the mother and daughter-in-law don’t get along, Kathryn added, “We were 100 percent behind her. Erika and I have, through the trauma, grown closer.” Erika’s leadership role within the organization has drawn questions about the direction she is taking the conservative group, especially after the president of TPUSA’s University of Georgia chapter resigned in April, claiming the group has strayed from Charlie’s vision since Erika took the helm. “I’m built different,” Erika told VF in response to the backlash. “I do not know how to explain it other than this world will not break me.” TPUSA confirmed Charlie’s death on September 10, 2025. He was 31. “It’s with a heavy heart that we, the Turning Point USA leadership team, write to notify you that early this afternoon, Charlie went to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in Heaven,” a statement from the organization wrote at the time. Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Charlie, was charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. He pleaded not guilty. In early September, a judge ruled that Robinson’s case would go to trial. The 23-year-old faces the death penalty if convicted. “[This decision was] an important step in our family’s pursuit of justice for him,” Charlie’s family said in a statement at the time. “Every step in this process carries the weight of all that Charlie’s murder has taken from his family, especially his [two] children who will grow up without their father. We are grateful to all who have continued to pray for us, support us, and stand with us through a year of unimaginable grief.” The statement continued, “As the next phase of the judicial process begins, our family remains united in our love for Charlie, our commitment to the pursuit of justice, and our prayer for a transparent and timely process.”

Pete Davidson's Candid Reflections on Dating Kim Kardashian New

Pete Davidson's Candid Reflections on Dating Kim Kardashian

Article • Oct 01, 2026 • 1 min read Pete Davidson is looking back fondly on his past romance with Kim Kardashian. “I’m one of the survivors — the few and the proud. We’re like the Marines,” Davidson, 32, joked to Variety in an interview published on Wednesday, September 30, about the men who’ve dated Kardashians. “Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game. One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.’ I found that very attractive and mature.” Davidson met the Kardashians star in October 2021 while working together on Saturday Night Live. After sharing a kiss as Aladdin and Jasmine in a sketch, the pair began dating before breaking things off in August 2022.“I was never subjected to anything I didn’t want to be a part of. She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle — being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder — for a guy with mental stuff and at the time drug problems was a little too much for me,” Davidson shared in his candid interview. “But we’re cool, and I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into.” Davidson found himself dating Kardashian, 45, as she was going through a challenging divorce from rapper Kanye West. (The pair share children North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.) West infamously reacted to his then-estranged wife dating Davidson by posting threats on Instagram and depicting a Claymation Davidson getting kidnapped and beheaded in the music video for his song “Eazy.”In his latest interview, Davidson acknowledged that the chatter had an impact on him. “What tripped me out is I was super open about mental stuff — everyone knows this about me — and it’s like he was [saying], ‘Kill yourself.’ And he did push me,” he told the outlet. To this day, Davidson has empathy for West, 49, and pointed out that the Grammy-winning rapper also lost a parent “and has mental stuff.” (The comedian's firefighter dad, Scott, was killed in the September 11 attacks in 2001 while West's mom, Donda, died after undergoing plastic surgery in 2007.)

Christa Pike's Shocking Survival After Two Failed Lethal Injections New

Christa Pike's Shocking Survival After Two Failed Lethal Injections

Death row inmate Christa Pike survived a failed execution attempt after being administered two lethal injections, her lawyer said. Pike, 50, was transported to a Tennessee hospital after the attempted execution on Wednesday, September 30. In an emergency motion to halt the execution on Wednesday, her legal team said, “Ms. Pike has lost consciousness and still has a heartbeat and is audibly snoring.” An attorney for the convicted murderer told the BBC that she was “being provided life-saving measures” at a Tennessee hospital after being injected with two syringes of pentobarbital. The Tennessee Department of Correction told NBC News that Pike was “transported to an off-site medical facility” following Wednesday’s execution attempt at Riverbend Maximum Security Prison in Nashville. “The Tennessee Department of Correction followed every step of the state's lawful, established execution protocol approved by the Attorney General’s Office,” a TDOC spokesperson told The Tennessean newspaper. “The lethal injection chemical in the protocol has consistently been effective, and the protocol does not allow for additional procedures beyond what was carried out this evening.” Pike is the sole woman on death row in Tennessee and was expected to be the first woman executed in the state in more than 200 years, per historical records. In 1996, Pike was convicted of the murder of classmate Colleen Slemmer. Slemmer’s mother, May Martinez, who attended the attempted execution, told NBC News, “It was a mess.” Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said in a statement, “Carrying out a lawfully imposed sentence is among the state's most serious responsibilities, and the people of Tennessee expect it to be done in a manner that is not only legal and constitutional but is effective. I have ordered a comprehensive, third-party review to determine exactly what occurred.” “Tonight the State of Tennessee once again failed to carry out a lawful execution,” Pike’s legal team told The Tennessean. “We take no pleasure in being right, but the concerns raised by Ms. Pike proved to be true: difficult vein access, blown veins, degraded pentobarbital, no emergency medical care available when things inevitably go wrong, all under a protocol that remains veiled in secrecy.” Earlier on Wednesday, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit stayed Pike’s execution just an hour before it was due to take place at 10 a.m. local time. However, the U.S. Supreme Court later overruled that decision, allowing the execution to go ahead.

Media witnesses to the botched execution of Christa Pike described how the satanist killer lifted her head and asked if the pain was normal after a second round of the lethal drug cocktail was administered.Pike, who would have been the first woman executed in Tennessee in more than 200 years, somehow survived the double dose of the highly potent sedative, Pentobarbital, Wednesday – with reporters describing how the failed execution played out unlike anything they had ever seen.“They went through two rounds, and she was still breathing at the end, it was very ragged, she lifted her head up and was looking around at one point. She said there was a spot that was burning and hurting and asked if that was normal,” Catherine Sweeney of WPLN said at a press briefing after the execution was put on hold.Christa Pike survived the double dose of Pentobarbital during her botched execution. TDOC / SWNS“None of that was normal.”Pike, 50, was strapped to a gurney in the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution’s death chamber just before 7:30 p.m. CDT an hour after her stay of execution was overturned by the Supreme Court.“When they told us to leave at 8:53 Christa Pike was still breathing. They did two separate rounds of pentobarbital – which I’ve never seen before – the protocol does say that they should do a second round if the person is still alive,” Sweeney recounted. “I covered all of the executions last year and most of the ones this year, we haven’t seen anything like it.”Tennessee’s execution protocol calls for a second set of syringes to be administered “if the inmate is not deceased” after the first injection. However, it does not specify what happens if the subject is alive after the second set.Critics of the death penalty condemned the Tennessee Department of Corrections’ use of lethal injections.“The state of Tennessee has shown the world it cannot be trusted to implement capital punishment in a way that preserves human dignity and the rule of law. This has to stop now,” Laura Porter, executive director of the US Campaign to End the Death Penalty, said in a statement to USA Today. Other witnesses on site at the Nashville prison to watch the historic execution take place recalled Pike complaining about “throbbing” in her arm.“They went through two rounds and she was still breathing at the end, it was very ragged,” Catherine Sweeney of WPLN recounted at a press briefing after the failed execution.“I covered all of the executions last year and most of the ones this year, we haven’t seen anything like it,” Sweeney continued.
