Joy-Anna Duggar's Surprising Thoughts on Expanding Her Family

Joy-Anna Duggar is getting candid about the decision to expand her family further amid her pregnancy with baby No. 4. “Even in the pregnancy, I am trying to enjoy it, even though it seems like it’s been fast,” Joy-Anna, 28, told sister Jinger Duggar on the Wednesday, September 9, episode of their “Call Your Sister” podcast. “It’s been harder, but I don’t know how many more times I’m going to do this.” Joy-Anna and her husband, Austin Forsyth, announced earlier this month that they are expecting again. The Counting On alum and Austin, 32, are already the parents of sons Gideon, 8, and Gunner, 3, as well as daughter Evelyn, 5. (Joy-Anna previously suffered a miscarriage in 2019, naming her late daughter Annabell.) Speaking on the siblings’ podcast, Joy-Anna confessed that she initially felt “pressure” to have a large family like the one she grew up in. (Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are famously parents of 19.) “I felt that in our first pregnancy, and Austin and I have had to have real conversations about [it] because I feel like it’s really important,” she acknowledged. “Austin, [during] this pregnancy, for the first time was like, ‘Do you know what? We might be done after this one. I don’t know, how do you feel?’” As a result, Joy-Anna began discussing the possibilities that baby No. 4 will be her last. “It’s crazy to me that we might already be there, like, we’re done with this phase of life, so that part of it is bittersweet,” the former TLC star added. “Right now, I don’t feel like I would be done with this one. Four or five have always been … in my mind.” Like her younger sister, Jinger, 32, “assumed” she’d have “as many kids as possible” before becoming a mom. “When [Jeremy Vuolo and I] were engaged, we were talking about how many kids we wanted, and we were also watching through Bill Gothard’s videos and pausing it,” Jinger said, referring to the controversial leader of her family’s IBLP religion. “Initially, that was one of the bigger things I was thinking through. I was never the one that wanted to babysit everyone’s kids. … I loved being around kids, but I wasn’t like, ‘I’m going to have 50 kids of my own.’ But I thought, ‘That’s what everybody’s gonna do.’” Upon discussing the matter with Jeremy, 39, Jinger ultimately had a change of heart. “Children are a blessing from the Lord, but [that] doesn’t mean you have to have as many as possible, then that was actually a different perspective for me,” she said. “[That] gave me more joy going into having my kids. I was like, ‘Thank you, Lord, for these kids; they are a blessing.’ I don’t want to do anything out of convenience, but I also want to be present and involved in my kids’ lives in a deep way where each kid feels taken care of.” Jinger and Jeremy share daughters Evangeline, 8, and Felicity, 5, and son Finn, 17 months.

Tragic Turn: Pregnant Mom Declared Brain Dead After Shooting

A mother in California was declared brain dead after she was shot in the head while 14 weeks pregnant with her second baby. Adriana Jimenez was shot while sitting in a car alongside her sister Maria Fernanda Jimenez outside of their apartment in the Canoga Park neighborhood on August 23. Her family has since announced that she has officially been declared brain dead. The siblings’ uncle told KABC on Thursday, September 3, that both Adriana and Maria Fernanda were shot by the gunman. Maria Fernanda was shot twice and is expected to recover. Adriana was shot in the head. Adriana also miscarried after the shooting, seemingly a result of her injuries. “Sadly, her baby also died,” the uncle told the outlet. The Los Angeles Police Department is still in the process of investigating the shooting and the gunman has been arrested. However, the name of the suspect or their exact relationship to the victims has not yet been publicly announced. “The suspect is someone who is close to the family,” the uncle said. “He is known to the family. We don’t understand why he made that decision.” The uncle went on to add that the shooting “has nothing to do with gangs,” but a suspected motive is not currently known. He then said that the situation was “tragic” and that he “couldn’t believe” that it happened.The family is now dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy, including caring for Adriana’s 6-year-old daughter. "That's the hardest part, knowing the little girl calls out for her mom and cries for her," the uncle said. "We know that we have to be strong, unite as a family and move past this tragedy." Following her killing, Adriana’s family set up a GoFundMe so that her remains can either be cremated or returned back to her native El Salvador. The fundraiser has earned more than half of its $10,000 goal as of time of publication. Adriana was remembered as “the loving mother of a beautiful 6-year-old daughter who will now have to grow up without her mom” on the fundraising page. “No child should have to experience a loss like this,” the GoFundMe page added. “And our hearts are shattered knowing the difficult road that lies ahead for her.” The LAPD told Us that the department is unable to provide any updates in the case due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Time travel claims have exploded after a detail was spotted in the 1937 painting “Mr Pynchon and the Settling of Springfield.” United States Postal ServiceThe man can be seen front and center within the artwork, which was created in 1937. He stares at a rectangular device, which has a coal color on the back and what appears to be chrome or reflective trim.X users noted last March that the mural is located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Office building, which was once the Springfield Main Post Office.The mural was one of six created for the post office, which Romano finished with students, funded by the Federal Arts Project, a 1935-1943 government program that hired visual artists during the Great Depression, according to the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.Despite the social media speculation, historians reportedly believe the object is simply a mirror. Mirrors were common trade items in 17th-century American colonies, which likely explains why the man appears to be studying his own reflection in the object.“Mr. Pynchon” in Romano’s painting is one of the founders of present-day Springfield.  “Mr. Pynchon and the Settling of Springfield,” by Italian American muralist Umberto Romano, shows an indigenous man, apparently holding a smartphone, in 17th century Springfield, Massachusetts.Pynchon moved to North America from Essex, England, in 1590 and arrived in Massachusetts Bay Colony, where he became a founder and assistant treasurer. He acquired the land that would become Springfield from the Agawam Native Americans in 1636.To ensure historical accuracy, Romano consulted with local historian Harry Andrews Wright and author Esther Forbes, intending to capture the region’s development from 1636 to 1936, according to the Smithsonian.Rather than a single moment, the mural functions as a mosaic of the settlement’s establishment, featuring Pynchon as the central figure overseeing the interactions between the English settlers and the local Pocomtuc and Nipmuc peoples. While the work reflects the complex history of the area, art historians note that Romano’s semi-abstract style and deliberate choices in composition, absent anachronistic technology, are the intended focus of the piece.

Former Dancing With the Stars winner Bobby Bones wants certain contestants to keep it real when it comes to their undeniable ballroom advantages. “I keep hearing people with years of dance training go on the show — not just this season, but every season — and say, ‘Well, I’ve never done ballroom, so this is completely new for me. It’s going to be really hard,’” Bones, 46, shared in an Instagram video posted Saturday, September 5. “It’s not. It’s an obvious advantage.” The host of “The Bobby Bones Show” podcast continued, “To watch some of the contestants go on and say, ‘No, it’s just not the same. It’s going to be hard for me too.’ It’s not. It’s just a little insulting when people that have danced their whole life go, ‘Ah, it’s not really the same because I’ve never danced ballroom.’” Bones entered season 27 of the hit reality competition series with zero dance experience. With help from his professional partner, Sharna Burgess, Bones was able to defy expectations and win the show in November 2018. As the countdown begins for season 35 with contestants like Jenna Dewan, Harry Shum Jr. and Julia Stiles, Bones explained how some participants may have a clear advantage. “They know where their arms and feet are without having to constantly look at them,” he said without naming specific contestants. “They understand rhythm. They can hear the beat and know where a movement should land. They already have balance, flexibility, posture, body control and even spatial awareness. They know how to point their feet. They know how to extend to their fingertips and make a movement look complete. Things that, again, if you never danced, you have no idea what’s happening.” Bones made it clear that he has “no problem” with people with previous dance experience competing on the show alongside those who have never sashayed before. As he pointed out, it’s hard to find general performers — or actors and singers — in Hollywood who don’t have some kind of dance knowledge. “I just don’t love pretending that ‘I’ve never done ballroom’ means ‘I have no dance advantage,’” he proclaimed. “Because that, my friends, is a total load of bull crap.” Before a new season kicks off, Carrie Ann Inaba also weighed in on the debate surrounding the more seasoned contestants. According to the longtime DWTS judge, people don’t often realize the work that goes into becoming, specifically, a ballroom dancer. “Your body has memory, so it remembers how to dance, and it thinks it already knows how to do these moves, but it doesn’t,” she claimed to Entertainment Weekly in an interview published Monday, September 7. “It takes a lot of time to un-train the body to put your weight on the front more over your toes instead of back and down and grounded. It’s not as easy as people think.” Dancing With the Stars season 35 kicks off with a two-night premiere on ABC and Disney+ Tuesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET.

Lindsay Clancy's Attorney Pleads with Trump for Pardon After Mistrial Shocker

Lindsay Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, asked President Donald Trump to pardon the defendant after her murder case ended in a mistrial. "Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady and the person she is, what she's been through, and consider a pardon," Reddington said while appearing on the Tuesday, September 8, episode of Good Morning America. Clancy, 36, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder for the killings of her kids Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023. She pleaded not guilty, and her defense argued throughout the trial that she shouldn’t be held criminally responsible due to her severe postpartum psychosis. The case ended in a mistrial on Friday, September 4, after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Reddington admitted he was "upset" that the case ended in a mistrial due to one lone juror who refused to say she was not guilty. "He had agreed, according to the note from the forelady, that he had doubt but he would not present the law of reasonable doubt as presented by the judge," Reddington said of the juror. "That's not right and that's why I was upset." Reddington was also asked about potentially having a retrial, and expressed his hopes that he and Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz can come to an agreement. "He’s a very hard-charging prosecutor, a conservative gentleman," he said of Cruz. "I hope however after sitting through this trial and seeing the evidence that was presented from the government as well as from the defense, that he would revisit that issue and hopefully would be able to work something out that would be acceptable to both sides." Cruz previously shared his thoughts about a potential retrial on September 4, in which he declined to announce plans regarding the future of the case. "I appreciate the fact that there are strong feelings and opinions tied to this case," Cruz said outside of the courthouse following the ruling. "However, our job is to set aside our feelings and focus solely on the facts. The facts are Lindsay Clancy killed her three children and the evidence suggested to us that she was in control of her actions when she committed those homicides." While Reddington has asked Trump, 80, to pardon Clancy, the White House has not yet responded to the request. However, Trump did previously reflect on the case on the day the mistrial was declared. Trump told reporters that the case was on “television so much” that it was “hard not to follow it." "Look, she did a horrible, horrible thing. Can't be worse," Trump said of Clancy. "But you'll find out what the price to pay is. There'll be a price. It's going to be mental institution or jail or something, but I guess they're going to go through another trial. It's too bad."
