Inside Putin's Revamped Doomsday Bunker: What Are They Preparing For?

See more of our coverage in your search results. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been quietly upgrading a secret, Cold War-era command center deep inside a mountain that can withstand American bunker-buster bombs and guarantee mutually assured destruction in the event of nuclear war.A recent investigation into the Kremlin bunker at Kosvinsky Kamen mountain, in the Urals 800 miles east of Moscow, revealed that the Russian Ministry of Defense has been working on a major modernization project at the site since 2018, according to The Sunday Times, Danwatch, and Dossier Center. The deep-dive included the first images from inside the doomsday bunker, known as Facility 1335, which included an ominous staging area covered in posters of missiles, explosions, and Russian troops. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been upgrading a secret command center beneath the Kosvinsky Kamen mountain. AP Photo/Dmitri LovetskyFacility 1335 was among the bomb-proof shelters that were built across Russia during the Cold War as part of the Kremlin’s Perimeter system, known as Dead Hand in the West, which was put in place so that Moscow’s nuclear forces could be activated no matter what in the event of an atomic war. Kosvinsky Kamen is buried under more than 1,000 feet of solid granite, meaning it is protected from America’s current arsenal of penetrating, bunker-buster bombs. While little was known about the base since its construction in the 1970s, the new report revealed that the facility has at least 24 underground rooms, with sprawling tunnels measuring some 1.5 miles away from the entrances. One undated image from inside the tunnels shows a person standing in the massive hallway with no end in sight and tire tracks behind them. Mount Kosvinsky Kamen harbors a Cold War-era base capable of withstanding nuclear war and America’s strongest bunker-buster bombs. Evgeny – stock.adobe.comA slew of new procurement contracts related to Facility 1335, dated between 2018 and 2024, also suggest the Kremlin is working to upgrade the facility to withstand a modern war. The contracts included 24,000 tons of steel, more than 62,000 tons of cement, around 372 miles of electrical cable, 21 electrical substations, 160 ventilation units, 95 pieces of heavy machinery, and 648 drilling tools.Russia has been upgrading its air defense system and testing new long-range missiles linked to its nuclear program in recent years. REUTERSSome of the ventilation units brought in were designed to protect against radioactive dust, with the Kremlin also bringing in new blast-resistant equipment and communication systems into the bunker. Satellite images also revealed repair and construction work across different segments of the bunker, including the construction of new entrances between 2022 and 2025. The equipment being brought in likely means that Russia is digging even deeper to expand the facility and reinforcing its defenses, Tom Roseth, expert in Russian security policy at the Norwegian Staff College, told The Times.“The expansion of Facility 1335 follows a major upgrade of Russia’s nuclear forces, which has been given high priority within the Russian armed forces,” Roseth said. “The Perimeter will once again be given priority now, in a more tense geopolitical situation in which Russia sees itself as being in conflict with the West,” he added.

Eli Raridon and Wife Share Heartbreaking Loss of Baby Son

New England Patriots rookie tight end Eli Raridon and his wife, Anna, announced the loss of their baby son in an emotional social media post.  “Our angel, Peter James Raridon, was born on September 11th,” Anna shared via Instagram on Tuesday, September 29. “When Eli and I went in for our 20-week anatomy scan, excited to see our sweet baby boy, our hearts were forever changed. Our little one was diagnosed with anencephaly, a fatal condition in which he would not survive outside the womb.” (Anencephaly, per the Cleveland Clinic, is a severe and fatal fetal defect in which a baby is born without major parts of their brain, skull or scalp.)  She continued, “While we are absolutely devastated that we were unable to bring our baby boy home, I am grateful to have loved him deeply, kept him safe, and had been his home for the past 9 months before he was called back to Heaven.” While Anna acknowledged the couple “may never understand the why behind this journey” and their son’s “time with us was brief,” she called his “purpose still meaningful.” “He will forever be a part of our story,” she wrote. I have loved you every second of your life & will miss you every second of mine. What a sweet sweet reunion ours will be .” Eli, 22, and Anna got married in May 2025, before the football star’s senior season at Notre Dame. “Best day of my life!!!!” Anna shared via Instagram at the time. “Married my favorite person, surrounded by the people we love most!! thank you Jesus for the most perfect day .” Anna said the couple’s cocktail hour was her favorite moment of the big day.  “Spending little moments with all of our guests & catching up with long distance friends & family,” she shared in a separate post via Instagram. “We are so so blessed to be surrounded by those we love most!” The couple announced their pregnancy in March. “Half me, half you — fearfully & wonderfully made, thank you Jesus!!! baby Raridon arriving this fall ,” Anna shared via Instagram.  Eli was drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. After the selection, Anna celebrated via social media. “Forever your biggest fan,” she wrote via Instagram, showing off her baby bump.  The rookie tight end appeared in the Patriots’ first two games of the season, catching the first touchdown pass of his career in the team’s season-opening loss against the Seattle Seahawks on September 9.  Eli missed the Patriots’ third game of the season — against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, September 27 — while dealing with a thigh injury.

Controversial Film Released Decades After Lead Actor's Tragic Death New

Controversial Film Released Decades After Lead Actor's Tragic Death

Back in 1993, a controversial Dutch arthouse movie was unveiled to the public for the first time at an independent film festival. It was titled 'Diary Of A Weak Yogi', and it was intended to shock viewers . The film, which was in black-and-white, tells a provocative story, with nudity featured throughout , along with explicit and sexually-charged scenes regularly shown. While the on-screen content was controversial, there were more headlines made from the creation and intended release of the title. Unfortunately for directors Pim de la Parra and Ronaldo la Silva, the movie was so inappropriate that it never made it to cinemas. And just days after filming wrapped, lead actor Kamaran Abdulla took his own life. Now, 33 years on, the film has finally been released in cinemas, though director de la Parra will never see the film's theatrical release, having died three years ago. Dutch arthouse film 'Diary Of A Weak Yogi' has been released in cinemas, over 30 years since its first screening. Credit: Periscoop Film What happens in Diary Of A Weak Yogi? The Dutch movie focuses on two couples who seem happy, before jealousy, resentment and sexual frustrations cause the relationships to unravel. Derek (Abdulla) is a university professor married to Audrey (Manouk van der Muelen), a successful novelist. They are friends with Robert, a painter getting ready for an exhibition in Rotterdam, and his wife Loes, who is a motorcycle mechanic. The four start to spend more time together, unveiling the truths and scars of their relationships, resulting in the couples swapping partners. This then leads to a number of sexual run-ins that involve sadomasochism and BDSM, going beyond normal romantic scenes. For example, there is a scene where Derek is whipped repeatedly by a crowd of people dressed in bondage - there is another scene where Loes is seen riding her racehorse, naked. While these scenes may be graphic, this isn't what stopped the title from seeing the light of day; it was a lack of finances. Why didn't the film get a theatrical release? The film's release relied on funding from the conservative Dutch Film Fund, which chose to refuse to pay them the money needed to see out production. Following the suicide of actor Kamaran Abdulla and the film's explicit nature, including extreme nudity, they chose to hold back on funding. The filmmakers were then unable to finish what they started, with aspects like the soundtrack and the film's opening and closing credits left to do. Eventually, De la Parra and la Silva won their respective lawsuits against the Fund, as courts ordered it to pay them the grant money. But the Fund still refused, as the unfinished movie remained locked away. The controversial 1993 film remained unfinished until recently. Credit: Periscoop Film Filmmaker made harrowing admission about Abdulla Abdulla played lead character Derek, though he would tragically die by suicide at the age of 34, days after filming had wrapped. As well as the funding issue, the death of the Dutch-Iraqi actor affected the production and cast. Paul Ruven, a screenwriter who helped to get the film its theatrical release this year, said that the late artist only agreed to take the role on one day before filming began. He explained, as per the Daily Mail : "I called him around midnight for the role, "He was willing, but he had just called his parents in Iraq to tell them he was going to commit suicide... But as far as he was concerned, the suicide could wait until after filming. "Because of that, Kamaran felt no shame whatsoever, because he wouldn't be around anymore anyway when the reviews came out. No other actor I know would expose himself like that." Ruven helped to bring a forgotten piece of cinema to the public eye over 30 years after its release, as part of a promise made to the late de la Parra. It also allows audiences to see Abdulla's raw, explicit performance for the first time. Featured image credit: Periscoop Film

Maria Shriver's Rare Photos of Son Christopher Spark Heartfelt Reactions New

Maria Shriver's Rare Photos of Son Christopher Spark Heartfelt Reactions

Maria Shriver gushed about son Christopher and shared rare photos in a sweet 29th birthday tribute. “Today is @c1lotsoffun‘s birthday,” Shriver, 70, wrote via Instagram on Monday, September 28, alongside a carousel of snaps with her youngest child. “Happy birthday to this wonderful, kind, loving, caring, fun, funny, wise young man!” The former first lady of California continued, “You may be my baby, but I will always look up to you. I admire the way you walk in the world. I admire the way you make people feel. I admire the way you look for the good in everyone. God blessed me when he made me your mother, and you bless everybody’s life that you walk into. Have a wonderful day on your birthday! Know you are loved, and I love you! Love, mommy. ♥️.” In her post, Shriver included a black-and-white throwback photo of herself snuggling up to Christopher when he was a child. The I Am Maria author also shared more recent pics, including snaps at a University of Michigan football game, on a boat and in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Shriver shares Christopher, as well as daughters Katherine, 36, and Christina, 35, and son Patrick, 33, with ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger. (The Terminator star, 79, is also a dad to son Joseph, 28, with Mildred Patricia Baena.) Katherine also shared a tribute to her brother, featuring several throwback snaps. “Happy birthday to the greatest of all baby brother Christopher!” she wrote. “You’re the best. I love you tons.” Unlike his parents and siblings Katherine and Patrick, Christopher has chosen to live his life mostly out of the spotlight. However, last year, he publicly opened up about his 30-pound weight loss journey. “It was a big process,” he shared while speaking on a panel at the inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles in May 2025. “I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.” Christopher noted that he “tried everything” to lose weight over the years, but nothing worked for him long-term. “I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,” he admitted. “It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day … when you’re saying, ‘Oh, before-and-after photos’ … I don’t feel like I’m an ‘after’ yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point.” Christopher revealed that giving up bread during the Catholic holiday Lent last year gave him the push he needed. “I was like, ‘Well, if I’m giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity,' and I’m a good Catholic boy, so I’m not going to break it,” he explained. “And that was my one rule. I was like, ‘I’m not going to break Lent.’ And so, I lost 30 pounds just through that.”

Christa Pike's Execution: The Chilling Simulation Everyone's Talking About New

Christa Pike's Execution: The Chilling Simulation Everyone's Talking About

A graphic simulation has shown how lethal injection affects the body ahead of Christa Gail Pike 's scheduled execution tomorrow. The only woman currently on Tennessee's death row is due to be executed on September 30. The 50-year-old was sentenced to death in 1996 after she, her boyfriend Tadaryl Shipp, and friend Shadolla Peterson were convicted of murdering 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer in a case that became known locally as the "Job Corps Murder". Christa Pike will be executed tomorrow. Credit: Death Penalty Information Center Pike and Slemmer were both enrolled in a Knoxville job-training program for troubled teens. Prosecutors argued Pike believed Slemmer was trying to steal her boyfriend. According to court filings and trial testimony, she struck the victim with a piece of asphalt before dragging her into nearby woods, torturing her and slitting her throat with a box cutter. She was also accused of keeping a piece of Slemmer's skull as a souvenir after the killing. Now, more than three decades later, Pike is set to be executed on Wednesday. Graphic simulation shows how lethal injection works Dr. Wealz on YouTube posted a simulation that reveals what exactly happens when an inmate is given the lethal injection. The narrator explains that the inmate is first secured to a gurney before intravenous lines are inserted into their arms. The first drug administered is pentobarbital, a barbiturate sedative that is used to cause drowsiness. "As it enters the bloodstream, it acts on neurotransmitters in the brain, slowing down communication between brain cells. This impairs the brain's control over the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, leading to a decrease in breathing and heart rate," he said. Dr. Wealz then explains that the second drug is pancuronium bromide, a paralytic agent that causes complete skeletal muscle paralysis, including the muscles needed for breathing, ultimately leading to respiratory arrest. The final drug is potassium chloride, which disrupts the heart’s ionic balance, causing cardiac arrhythmia and arrest. "The brain, already starved of oxygen from respiratory failure, quickly succumbs to catastrophic irreversible damage. The heart stops within about a minute of the potassium chloride injection," the narrator explained. The front page of Christa Pike's appeal against the death penalty, with her execution this week. Credit: The State of Tennessee the Office of the Post-Conviction Defender Pike reveals nightmare over execution In the new documentary Dead Woman Walking: Pike Vs Tennessee, Pike opened up about the horrific murder, her traumatic childhood, and execution. "I've always felt bad for her mother, that I took someone’s child, someone’s sister, someone’s friend away," she said. "I feel remarkably remorseful for what I did." Pike, Shipp, and Peterson were all arrested within about 36 hours after the horrific murder. Police found a satanic Bible and an altar in Shipp's room, while a piece of Slemmer’s skull was uncovered among Pike's belongings. The 50-year-old said thoughts of the execution have consumed her life since the date was set a year ago. "I have the most horrible nightmares," she said in the documentary. "But I think what has been worse is that they told me a year ahead of time. And so every day, I have woken up and lived that thought all day, every day, every waking moment." One of her biggest fears is whether the execution team will be able to establish an IV line. "The only place they can draw my blood is in my hands with a very tiny needle, and I know from reading our protocol that they aren’t allowed to put the IV in my hands," Pike said. "So I don’t know what they’re going to do, and I’m so scared that what just happened to Tony Carruthers will happen to me," she added. Tennessee called off Carruthers' execution in May after personnel spent more than an hour attempting to establish the required intravenous lines. Slemmer's mother, May Slemmer Martinez, supports the Pike execution and rejects the idea that her age and traumatic childhood should spare her. The mom said that she fought Tennessee officials for 16 years to recover her daughter’s skull and later, without warning, received the additional remains in separate packages. Martinez also shared that she plans to attend Pike’s execution and hold up a picture of her late daughter. "It’s never about the victims," she said. "It’s like Colleen was never there." Why New iPhone 18 Pro Users Are Seeing Red Over Color Fade New

Why New iPhone 18 Pro Users Are Seeing Red Over Color Fade

See more of our coverage in your search results. This isn’t the color of money.Despite costing over $1,000, the new iPhone 18 Pro is sending some shoppers into buyer’s remorse, with reports that the so-called state-of-the-art devices are beginning to fade.Apple fans have taken to social media to complain that the $1,199 device, which dropped on September 18, was showing signs of discoloration around the three rear cameras. The color drain was particularly pronounced in Burgundy and Black models.“Hey everyone, I noticed that the area around my camera lenses looks slightly lighter/pinkish compared to the surrounding camera housing,” declared one user. “There is no oil, residue, or dirt on the phone, and I’ve cleaned the area carefully. I’m also not seeing any scratches, dents, or physical damage.”The discoloration primarily affected the lens area. Andy Lockhart / FacebookAn accompanying photo showed the Burgundy phone’s triple lenses ringed with slightly pink halos. “I have the same thing on Burgundy Pro Max,” declared another. “Everyone that’s saying you just need to wipe it off is wrong, it does not wipe off. It’s a discoloration on the unit.”Others claimed their iPhones were unintentionally two-toned upon arrival, ruling out the effects of normal wear and tear or improper cleaning. “My black iPhone 18 Pro Max came in the exact same way,” complained one bummed-out customer.“Mine looks exactly the same,” lamented another. “It was that way out of the box. I figured I would clean it off when I got home. The stains are not going away, no matter what I’ve done.”Reddit users claimed that the discoloration wasn’t due to normal wear and tear. Reddit / Low_Midnight_2601Some said they’d already requested a full refund. “Mine is horrible. Already on its way back to Apple,” wrote one dissatisfied techhead.Coincidentally, customers who’d bought the silver or pale blue “glacier” models didn’t report any pigment problems. The defect affected the Burgundy and Black versions, according to users. ZUMAPRESS.comThis isn’t the first time an iPhone has caused a pigment panic.Apple customers complained that the iPhone 17 Pro‘s Cosmic Orange model had changed to pink within weeks of its debut. Why?AppleInsider chalked up this defect to the colorization process. Both the 17s and the iPhone 18 Pros undergo anodization, which involves submersion in an electrolytic bath to form a porous aluminum oxide layer. This infuses the structure with the pigment, theoretically creating a coat that won’t come off.Meanwhile, an improperly applied seal can leave Apple devices susceptible to contaminants such as water or skin oils, any of which can affect the hue. Some leakers claimed that Apple had failed to address the problem, suggesting that future models — such as the iPhone 18 — would be vulnerable as well.

Domino Kirke Breaks Silence on Penn Badgley's Intimacy Scene Decision New

Domino Kirke Breaks Silence on Penn Badgley's Intimacy Scene Decision

Penn Badgley’s wife, Domino Kirke, is clapping back at claims that she’s responsible for the actor cutting back on filming sex scenes. In an Instagram video shared Monday, September 28, Kirke, 42, said she continues “to get DMs about this thing that happened three years ago,” referring to an article about Badgley, 39, explaining his decision to abstain from intimate scenes. Kirke noted that with “the characters that my husband has played over the years, people have come to expect that he will continue to play that guy,” acknowledging Badgley’s risqué scenes in You and Gossip Girl. “I was super happy for him and very proud of him because I understood how major it was,” said Kirke, a professional doula. “And yeah, it's just relational hygiene.” However, that hasn’t stopped people from flooding Kirke’s DMs, prompting a more direct response. “I want to say to those of you who still DM me about my husband deciding to do this for himself and his mental health, like, get over it,” she said. Kirke captioned the post, “A few years ago, the internet decided I’d asked my husband to stop doing sex scenes. The truth is, my husband decided to do this for his own mental health reason. After working in the industry since he was just 12 years old, believe me, it was time.” Kirke noted similarities between her work as a caregiver and her husband’s work as an entertainer. “Caregivers are so ready to be invisible, collapse, disappear, or take direction no matter what. They’re constantly allowing folks to blaze past their boundaries, all in the spirit of being accommodating or, in my husband’s case, entertaining,” she wrote. “They’re OK with being forgettable. Sometimes I ask people what their doula's name was, and they’re like, ‘Oh, I don’t remember!’ So finally, after years of trying, Penn decided to take a stand and let the world see him. And guess what … he hasn’t lost fans and he’s still getting hired!” Back in 2023, Badgley revealed that he requested fewer steamy scenes for his You character, Joe Goldberg, in the Netflix drama’s fourth season. “I asked [the creator of the show] Sera Gamble, ‘Can I just do no more intimacy scenes?'” the actor said on an episode of his “Podcrushed” podcast. “Fidelity in every relationship, and especially my marriage, is really important to me.” “I said to Sera, ‘My desire would be zero, to go from 100 to zero,’” he explained at the time. “But I signed this contract, I signed up for this show, I know what I did. You can’t take this aspect out of the DNA of the concept, so, ‘How much less can you make it?’ was my question for them.” According to Badgley, Gamble "didn't even bat an eye. She was really glad that I was that honest, and she had a really positive response. She appreciated my directness, and she appreciated that I was being reasonable and practical. And they came back with a phenomenal reduction.” However, for the show’s fifth and final season, which aired in 2025, Badgley said he understood the need for more physically intimate scenes with his costars. “I had to throw that out the window,” he told People in April 2025. “And as I always said, ‘My desire is that least as possible, but if it’s necessary, that’s the show we all signed up to make. So, let’s make sure it’s vital, let’s make sure it’s important, it’s deliberate.’ And we did.”

MediaPunch via Getty ImagesIt is only now, at 80, that Stallone realizes how grief, ignored for decades, can finally erupt.“You suppress, and you suppress, and you keep trying to ignore it, and then it comes out as an adult,” he said of the emotional “Vesuvius” that erupted “a few years ago.”It nearly cost him his marriage when Jennifer Flavin, 58, the mother of his daughters Sophia, 30, Sistine, 28, and Scarlet, 24, filed for divorce in August 2022.Stallone had two sons, Sage and Seargeoh, with his first wife, Sasha Czack. Ron Galella Collection via Getty ImagesThe couple reconciled weeks later after talking through their issues at home. “Thank God,” Stallone told me.He dedicated the book to Flavin, writing, “Your love has been a beautiful miracle!”Looking back, Stallone sees the crisis as part of something much larger.“Finally all the grief, everything just came out, and it was horrible,” he revealed.Stallone — as Rocky Balboa — was so broke that he was forced to give up his beloved dog, Butkus, and later bought him back, before giving him a staring role in ‘Rocky” ©MGM/Courtesy Everett CollectionSome of that grief was unimaginable. In 2012, Stallone’s eldest son, Sage, whom he shared with his first wife, Sasha Czack, died suddenly. At just 36 years old, he’d had a heart attack caused by coronary artery disease.Stallone can still recall precisely where he was when he got the news.He was in his office writing a screenplay when his mother’s third husband, Dr. Stephen Levine, called to tell him Sage had died.Stallone — seen in a poster for “Rocky III” — initially turned down a small fortune to sell the script to “Rocky” as producers refused to let him star in the movie. ©United Artists/Courtesy Everett Collection“He goes, ‘I’m calling to say he’s gone,’” Stallone recalled, shaking his head. (He hadn’t met Levine before, and he’s never been clear on why he called with the heartbreaking news.)“It was just so cut and dry and unemotional. ‘Sorry, gone. See you later. Bye.’ That was it. Not like, Can I help you? Nothing. And that was devastating.”In 1996, at age 20, Sage told People that his relationship with his dad had been strained before they eventually reconciled. He was stunned to win the Oscar for Best Picture for “Rocky” at the 1977 Academy Awards. Getty ImagesHe confessed that playing opposite his dad as Rocky Balboa Jr. in 1990’s “Rocky V” had been painful as well as cathartic.“When I was screaming [in the movie] ‘You never spent time with me! You never spent time with my mother!’ that was true. I was looking into my father’s face and really saying that,” Sage said. “I got a lot of things out. We broke into tears a few times. After the film, everything changed. We’d do anything for each other.”“I had great hopes for him,” Stallone told me of his firstborn. “He was going to do something really wonderful because he found his own niche, which wasn’t about performing, which I thank God … but I had no idea that he was ill.”The actor returned to star in box office hit “Creed” with Michael B. Jordan. He also produced the trio of “Creed” movies. ©MGM/courtesy Everett / Everett CollectionThe grief is ever close. “When you see a photo, it’s rough,” Stallone said. “Real rough.”His younger son, Seargeoh, 47, has autism and lives with Sasha. “She’s never abandoned him,” he said. “So he has constant companionship, and they live in LA.”Stallone, who is currently based on the East Coast, admitted he doesn’t see his son a lot “because I don’t go to California very often.”In “The Steps” — named for the 72 stone steps he ran up at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in “Rocky” — Stallone takes us through a childhood that began in a freezing, tiny Hell’s Kitchen apartment and was dominated by his parents’ violent marriage.Stallone, seen with his father Frank Sr. and brother Frank Jr. at his brother’s 1965 high school graduation. frank.stallone/InstagramWhen he was 2, they shipped him off to a boarding house for traveling salesmen in Queens and would visit just once a month. He stayed until he was 6.Damage to a facial nerve during his birth left him with his now-famous crooked mouth and permanent slur, and the kids at each new school were not kind.By 16, he’d gone through 12 schools in Philadelphia and was sent to Devereux, an institution for troubled teens in Berwyn, Pa.Stallone was an avid artist and writer and spent hours writing scripts — including one about American writer and poet, Edgar Allan Poe — in his New York walk-up apartment. At 17, he was sent to the Snake Pit, the school’s bleak punishment block — “basically a mental hospital doing double duty as a solitary confinement detention hall,” he reveals for the first time in the book. Some young men sat in their own feces, while others bore lobotomy scars. There, Stallone was assaulted by a huge, naked inmate nicknamed Jay Bird, who “clawed at my penis like he wanted to rip it off.Stallone now stars in the Paramount show, “Tulsa King,” produced by Taylor Sheridan. He’s seen with iconic actor Samuel L. Jackson.“I yelled for help as loud as I could, as he dug his nails into my crotch, ripping at it, trying to tear off my pants,” he recounts. For the star, delving back through such early recollections was “kind of traumatic.”“I think we bury a lot of memories for survival,” he told me. “It becomes scar tissue, then covered over by the dust, and then you blow the dust out, and you go, ‘Oh God, that was sad.’Stallone got Butkus when he was a broke actor living in NYC, and he made the trip with him out west to LA. ©United Artists/Courtesy Everett Collection“As an adult you go, ‘Why was it so difficult to be loved? Why was it so difficult to make friends?’“It’s emotional. I literally welled up a lot of times.”And the memories that hurt most? “It always got down to parents,” he admitted. “There are no good memories.”Stallone with his three young daughters, Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet. He was so broke, he subsisted on raw eggs and spoonfuls of cottage cheese he kept on his windowsill because he had no fridge. He auditioned, wrote scripts and worked in a deli and as a movie theater usher.“Even though I had zero opportunities and zero encouragement, I never thought about plan B,” he said. “Even though it was frightening because there was no plan B. I would’ve been destitute.”Stallone with Sage and Jennifer in August 1988. He also admits to steroid use and, over the years, has undergone nine back operations, two shoulder operations and three neck fusions. For Stallone, the book is also about time. “It’s my currency,” he told me. “I’m at the end of my life.”Stallone, seen with wife Jennifer Flavin, was given a Kennedy Center Honor in 2025. Getty ImagesAsked about future plans, he said, “I plan on just really condensing it, cramming it together and jamming and doing as much as possible.”With his hit Paramount show, “Tulsa King,” he said, “I told [producer] Taylor Sheridan, ‘I’m going to write this in a way that it’s just me.’ … It’s become this really bespoke kind of performance where it’s tailored to just allow me to be me, which I’ve never done in my whole life, ever.Stallone writes that he was so cold he had go thrifting for an old Afghan jacket in NYC.“You don’t have to be a tough guy. You just show up and let the words carry you away.”And after a lifetime spent proving people wrong, Stallone insisted, “I have nothing to prove. I have no more tricks in the bag. You’ve seen the magician.”

NYC Restaurants Fight Back Against Dine-and-Dash with Social Media Shaming

NYC Restaurants Fight Back Against Dine-and-Dash with Social Media Shaming

Don’t fork around with these New Yorkers!Pushed-to-the-limit NYC restaurateurs are faced with another battle in the fight for their financial lives — a growing scourge of dine-and-dash incidents. From deluded influencers to old-school scofflaws, this latest affront is just one more headache for inflation-embattled businesses to handle — and seemingly on their own, too, in an era where law enforcement, plates heaped high with meatier crimes, tend to view the Class A misdemeanor as small potatoes.Britney Cariño, owner of Talavera Cantina, is pictured at her restaurant in Mott Haven, Bronx. @talaveracantina/instagramSome fed-up proprietors aren’t taking the insult lying down — instead flocking to social media to name and shame the culprits, often with the help of their followers. Throwing the perps into Instagram jail, it turns out, is a much quicker way to justice than ratting out tab-sentee customers to the cops.Britney Cariño, owner of Talavera Cantina in The Bronx’s trendy Mott Haven neighborhood, rushed to the restaurant’s social accounts last May, after a table of customers walked out on their $112 tab.The alleged terrible trio sauntered into the Mexican cocktail bar on Cinco de Mayo — the busiest day of the month, Cariño said. They ordered tacos, chips and guacamole and four frozen margaritas. After enjoying themselves, they apparently slipped out the door without paying the bill — during a power outage that had torpedoed the POS system tracking their checks. While reviewing payments processed offline, Cariño spotted the outstanding balance and caught the group red-handed on security footage.“One of the women, she takes the check tray and she actually puts it under her purse,” the second-generation business owner told The Post. “They look around again and then that’s when they leave.”Appalled over the fryjacking — her first in three years running Talavera — Cariño said she aired the diners’ dirty laundry on Instagram with a screen grab of the footage, letting them know that if they paid up, everything would be fine. “Dine-and-dashes have always existed, but the fact that now we can utilize social media…..you kind of bring back shame,” said Britney Cariño (pictured outside of Talavera Cantina).“My first instinct wasn’t to call the police because honestly, sometimes there’s nothing that police can do,” she said.To her surprise and delight, one of the perps’ older brothers quickly came in and covered the tab.“Dine-and-dashes have always existed, but the fact that now we can utilize social media … you kind of bring back shame,” she declared.John Truong of Long Island City Vietnamese restaurant Chef Papa is another New Yorker who hit back, after being left high-and-dry by a wannabe foodfluencer, who promised coverage in exchange for $200 worth of food and drinks. Fahmida Sultana, who Truong said left his staff only $6 as a tip before sauntering out the door, welched on the supposed deal — leaving him with little recourse but to air his frustrations in Instagram. “We trusted this person to come in to record a video and I feel like she scammed us,” Truong lamented in the clip, posted last November.“She changed her username or deleted her account,” said one viewer, while another wrote, “Time to call out all the so-called influencers.”It was only after his video that she finally responded — with a scathing and since-deleted review.Truong’s $200 is nothing, however, compared to NYC’s most famous recent eat-and-run case — that of dine-and-dash diva Pei “Lu” Chung, who was arrested seven times after stiffing Michelin-starred restaurants, including Peter Luger and Francie, out of hundreds of dollars. She was finally released over the winter after being declared psychologically unfit to stand trial. The phenomenon has rippled beyond city limits, with restaurants around the tri-state area tackling the problem on their own. Erin O’Neill’s Pub and Grill in Poughkeepsie tried the same tack recently — posting footage of a female customer and her male accomplice sneakily removing a card from the check presenter with a $41 bill, before walking off with both her plastic and the booklet. The bar owner told the Post that it simply “wasn’t worth clogging up the police department’s time.”Go figure: Within ten minutes of posting, someone texted her a pic and the name of the male perp, and the post spread like wildlife. “I have almost 800,000 views on that video and it got us a bunch of followers,” O’neill told The Post. “[It was] $40 worth of free advertising.”Pei Chung is seen in Brooklyn Criminal Court Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, in Brooklyn, New York. Gregory P. MangoThen there are the Gotham grub spots that don’t even use social media — but instead lean on a good, old-fashioned Wall of Shame. UMI Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet in The Bronx got so tired of diners prancing out without paying, that it began slapping up photos and unpaid receipts.“Stealing food without paying,” reads one of the impromptu mugshots’ captions, evoking a Chinatown store’s “pickpocketer” poster: dine-and-dash edition.Whether intentional or the result of a misunderstanding, restaurant owners certainly have the right to call the cops — theft of service is technically punishable in NYC by up to a year in jail. But a $100 restaurant loss, experts say, tends to get buried in a system overwhelmed by serious crime. Christopher Herrman, an associate professor in the Department of Law & Police Science at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice (NYC), told The Post that when weighing their options, victimized restaurants have to make a “practical cost-benefit calculation.”Bronx seafood buffet spot UMI Sushi posts pics of accused dine-and-dashers on its Wall Of Shame. J.C. Rice for NY Post“If the unpaid check is $75 or $150, a manager may have to decide whether it is worth stopping restaurant operations, calling police, waiting for officers, reviewing video, providing statements and potentially having employees participate later in the criminal-justice process,” he said. Many opt out. And restaurateurs’ reluctance to report tab-stainers means the extent to which the problem has exploded isn’t readily showing up in official crime stats, leaving much of the evidence anecdotal, Herrman explained. When asked for dine-and-dash arrest totals over the past five years, an NYPD spokesperson told The Post that the Department doesn’t track this data to that “level of specificity.”As hospitality lawyer Andreas Koutsoudakis put it to The Post, “Walking out on a $300 check is the same class of crime as jumping a turnstile” — a relatively minor offense.“On paper, it carries up to a year, but in practice it’s nothing,” Koutsoudakis explained. But even if the wheels of justice won’t turn for small businesses in peril, that doesn’t change the fact that seemingly negligible eat-and-run can be a bitter bill to swallow.“On a five-table business, that’s going to hurt .. plus the 20 percent lost tips to the server,” said Koutsoudakis, who used to run a restaurant in Tribeca. For instance, with independent restaurants typically clocking a pre-tax profit margin of 5%, they’d need around $2,000 in sales to generate a $112 pre-tax profit — equivalent to Talavera’s skipped check. The best course of action for victimized vittle vendors, per Herrman, is to retain surveillance footage, preserve the receipt, record employee testimony, and make a “timely police report.”He also stressed communicating with other businesses when there’s evidence of a repeat offender.“When multiple restaurants report essentially the same conduct by the same individual, investigators potentially have a pattern rather than a single isolated event,” Herrman said. “Plus, it lets “the public know this is not the community you’re going to be doing this to,” said Koutsoudakis.

Bebe Rexha's Heartfelt Moment with Taylor Swift Over Body-Shaming Designers

Bebe Rexha's Heartfelt Moment with Taylor Swift Over Body-Shaming Designers

Bebe Rexha shared a special moment between her and Taylor Swift. Rexha, 37, opened up about an interaction she had with Swift, 36, that stayed with her through the years while attending the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 27, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. “I remember when I had the whole Grammys situation and I couldn't find a dress, and she had reached out to me because we’re the same age,” the singer told E! News. “And I thought that was really, really, really kind of her. Like, nobody really reached out,” Rexha said, referring to the 2019 Grammys when she had a hard time finding a designer that would dress her. Rexha continued, “Some people did, you know? But for her, at such a high level, to kind of make me feel like I belonged, was really, really nice.” Back in 2019, Rexha took to Instagram to call out designers that wouldn't dress her body type. “So I finally get nominated at the Grammys and it’s like the coolest thing ever,” she began in the since-deleted video. “And a lot of times artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet. So I had my team hit out a lot of designers and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big.” She added, “So all the people that said that I’m thick and I can’t wear dresses? F*** you, I don’t want to wear your f***ing dresses.” “Literally, like, they [say], I’m too big. And if a size 6, 8, is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you,” the hitmaker went on to say. “Then I don’t want to wear your f***ing dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy. ‘Cause all … you’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful, and they cannot wear your dresses.” She continued in the comments section, “If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size. Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less than by their size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large!”
