"We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss." Police in Greenville, South Carolina, later shared more insight into the circumstances surrounding the actress' death. According to NBC News, authorities were "accompanied by EMS personnel" when they "responded to a report of an unresponsive female" around 1:50 p.m. local time. The woman, later identified as Hayden, was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation later began. Along with dad Skip and mom Lesley Vogel, Hayden is survived by daughter Kaya, 11, whom she shared with Wladimir Klitschko. Her brother, Jansen Panettiere, died in February 2023 at age 28. Hayden got her start in the '90s with roles on soap operas including One Life to Live. An investigation was launched into the matter, and police learned that Lowrance, 22, shot McBrayer, 21, while he was “playing with the gun and pointing it at her.” “The caller, a friend of Lowrance’s, immediately contacted 911. While the line was open with dispatch, the caller attempted to physically intervene when Lowrance obtained another firearm and shot himself,” police said in the statement. “The caller was interviewed by detectives and is not believed to have been involved in the shootings.” Police added that the incident was “a tragic and preventable loss of life.” “The Fairbanks Police Department urges everyone to practice firearm safety at all times,” the department continued. “Firearms should always be handled responsibly and safely, and individuals should never participate in games or activities involving firearms that place anyone at risk of injury or death.” Police then asked that anyone with information regarding the case contact FPD detectives at fpdinvestigations@fairbanks.gov or 907-450-6500. Following the tragedy, McBrayer’s friends and family told KTUU that she was a loving and outgoing “all-American girl.” McBrayer’s mother, Amanda Hooper, said that her daughter “the sunshine of the family.” “She’d love to be the center of attention,” Hooper said of McBrayer. “She’s bubbly, she wants you to talk to everybody. She would sing, she helped everybody.” Hooper added that McBrayer and Lowrance, who was stationed at Fort Wainwright in Alaska, were considering getting engaged. “She went up [to Fairbanks] for the weekend one time, and then she came back and was like, ‘Mama, he’s a really good guy,’” Hooper recalled. “I talked to his mom, she seems like a really good family, and they were talking about getting engaged this weekend and then all this.” Hooper added that she is not “mad” at Lowrance’s family following the tragedy. “It was out of their control — there was nothing that they could do about it,” she said. “I’m hurt because I don’t know exactly what happened. An estimated 35 million American men experience measurable hair loss — and while the risk increases with age, up to 30% begin shedding before they turn 30.“I’d been dealing with thinning and male pattern baldness since my early 20s,” Finken told The Post. “By 24, I was basically living in hats and felt uncomfortable in social situations without one.”Though hair loss is common, the emotional toll can be steep. Many men experience anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, all feelings that can lead to embarrassment and social withdrawal.Finken had joked about getting a transplant for years. Then, one day, he pulled the trigger and booked the procedure.Finken’s swelling made him look unrecognizable. I looked like a cartoon version of myself,” he said. “The worst of it lasted about three days, and it’s been improving drastically every day since.”Day 1 brought puffy temples. By Day 2, bruising bloomed under one eye and the swelling started to block his vision. By Day 3, it had slid down into his neck.“My brain is not in danger at all. All of my airways are perfectly fine,” he reassured his TikTok followers. “It’s just swelling underneath the skin.” Viewers flooded the comments with questions and concerns, but Finken explained that the swelling was a normal part of the process.“The main thing that’s going to cause that swelling is the saline and anesthesia solution that they inject into your head,” he said. “Everyone’s lymphatic system works differently, also because of genetics, so some are going to puff up more and some it’s going to drain a lot quicker.”Of course, his pre-op weekend antics didn’t do him any favors.Finken admitted to drinking both Friday and Saturday before his Wednesday procedure — a move he now cautions others against. “You should not do this because it causes vascular dilation and also it makes local anesthesia less effective,” he stressed. Even still, Finken said he has no regrets about going under the knife. Within a matter of days, Finken’s swelling had largely subsided.
