Nick Reiner's Jail Struggles: No Access to Family Trust Funds New

Nick Reiner's Jail Struggles: No Access to Family Trust Funds

Nick Reiner’s attorneys are claiming he hasn’t received ‘even $5’ from his family trust as he awaits trial over the death of his parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. New legal documents filed this week and obtained by People show Nick’s attorneys responded to objections to their client, 32, accessing his family trust, the outlet reported on Friday, September 18. Per People, Nick’s legal team responded to successor trustee Jodi Pais Montgomery and former trustee Paul R. Kanin in two separate replies filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, September 17. “In the meantime, Nick still has not been able to access even $5 from his trust to buy basic subsistence items from the jail commissary,” Nick’s attorneys, Anita P. Wu and Geoffrey A. Neri, wrote in response to Montgomery. In response to Kanin, Nick’s attorneys argued, “Nick has been unable to access money that is lawfully his own — to re-engage criminal defense counsel, or even for basic subsistence items from the jail commissary.” According to an indictment obtained by Us on August 12, Nick is accused of the first-degree murders of his parents at their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025. Rob was 78, and Michele was 70. Nick, who has struggled with addiction and mental health issues over the years, previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder by means of lying in wait after the indictment was unsealed. Back in June, Nick first attempted to gain access to his share of a $1.5 million trust fund set up by his late parents. At the time, Nick argued that he should have received half of that sum when he turned 30 in September 2023. (The trust was established by his parents upon his birth in 1993.) In early August, however, lawyers for Nick’s previous and current trustee — Kanin and Montgomery — sought to block him from receiving any money from the trust due to California’s “Slayer Statute.” The “Slayer Statute” law states that “a person who feloniously and intentionally kills the decedent is not entitled” to any financial assets or property from the person or people they killed. Nick’s legal team appeared in court on August 17 seeking access to the trust fund. “The main thing to take away from today’s hearing and moving forward is Nick Reiner is very much entitled to his own money, his own funds. That’s what this process is about,” Nick’s former attorney Alan Jackson told Us and other reporters outside of court at the time. “He’s made a determination that he wants to be able to use his funds that are in his trust account to decide on his criminal counsel. When he is allowed to do that, he will then be able to defend himself in the way that the constitution indicates he should and can defend himself.”

Dakota Johnson and MGK's Surprising First Date at Taylor Swift's Apartment New

Dakota Johnson and MGK's Surprising First Date at Taylor Swift's Apartment

Dakota Johnson and MGK were enjoying a low-key first date when they were spotted at Taylor Swift’s apartment in New York City. “They hit it off and wanted some privacy,” a source exclusively tells Us. “So, Dakota contacted Taylor, and Taylor said she wasn't home, so they could use her place.” The insider adds, “Apparently, Taylor lets her close friends use her place when she’s away.” Us reached out to reps for Johnson, MGK and Swift for comment. Johnson and MGK, both 36, were spotted at Swift’s Tribeca apartment on Friday, September 11, before heading to the actress' hotel and, later, to Estela for dinner. Though the pair’s connection is new, they have run in the same social circles. In October 2025, Johnson and rapper both attended the Vogue World: Hollywood event at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. More recently, they were both present at Madison Square Garden in NYC when Swift, also 36, tied the knot with Travis Kelce on July 3. MGK and Johnson’s first official date comes after their respective splits from Megan Fox and Role Model. MGK (real name Colson Baker) and Fox, 40, called it quits in November 2024 after dating on and off for about four years. The exes had gotten engaged in January 2022 but now have a rocky dynamic as they coparent their daughter, Saga, whom they welcomed in March 2025 after their split. (MGK is also a dad to daughter Casie, 17, from a previous relationship. Fox, meanwhile, shares sons Noah, 13, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 10, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green.) “They were on a good path and things have blown up again,” a source exclusively told Us in April. “They have been having so many disagreements and explosive fights. Their communication with each other has been terrible.” The source added, “MGK has been trying hard to get back together with Megan, but she isn’t interested.” Despite their turbulent split, MGK has publicly praised Fox as “the greatest partner to have had a child with, because she’s such a phenomenal mom.” “We go back and forth on who [Saga] looks like. Last month, she looked exactly like me, and now she looks exactly like her,” he said on The Jennifer Hudson Show in September 2025. Johnson, meanwhile, had been dating singer Role Model, 29, for seven months before People confirmed their split in August. Prior to her romance with Role Model (real name Tucker Pillsbury), Johnson dated Coldplay frontman Chris Martin from October 2017 to June 2025. Though Johnson has not publicly addressed her splits from either musician, she did share her top dating non-negotiable during a June 2025 interview on Today. “Like, not an a**hole,” she quipped.

Why This New Jersey Man's Sweetgreen Diet is Sparking Buzz New

Why This New Jersey Man's Sweetgreen Diet is Sparking Buzz

A New Jersey man ate nothing but certain foods from a fast-casual chain for 25 days — an experiment that left him nine pounds lighter and craving a slice of pizza.Tim Donahue, a 27-year-old Hoboken resident who works in advertising in New York City, documented his challenge as a modern-day spin on Morgan Spurlock’s 2004 documentary “Super Size Me,” he told Fox News Digital. But instead of eating McDonald’s for a month, Donahue wanted to see what would happen if he exclusively ate at a chain on the opposite end of the fast-food spectrum.“I think it felt the furthest possible opposite of McDonald’s,” Donahue said of choosing Sweetgreen. The idea also came from watching his health-conscious co-workers routinely order Sweetgreen for lunch while he showed up with fast food.“Everyone inside my office is very healthy, and they were getting Sweetgreen bowls every single day for lunch,” Donahue said. “I myself would go pick up a fast-food burger, and everyone would razz and make fun of me.”Tim Donahue, a 27-year-old Hoboken resident who works in advertising in New York City, documented his challenge as a modern-day spin on Morgan Spurlock’s 2004 documentary “Super Size Me.” Fox News DigitalDonahue originally intended to make his experiment last for 30 days, but there was a practical problem.“I wanted to do 30, but if you try to look at your calendar and try to fit [it into] any 30-day window, there was always a wedding, a work trip, a reason why I couldn’t do 30,” he said. “I said, ‘You know what, it’s either going to get done with 25 days or I’m never going to it done.'”His primary rule was simple: Whatever he consumed had to be available on Sweetgreen’s menu, although he made an exception for black coffee. And while Sweetgreen offers more than salads, Donahue tried to keep the experiment centered on its bowls. His primary rule was simple: Whatever he consumed had to be available on Sweetgreen’s menu, although he made an exception for black coffee. Tim DonahueBy the third day, he said, there was little chance of turning back.9 pounds down as a favorite emergesDonahue didn’t begin the challenge expecting to lose weight, but by the end, the number on his scale had dropped by about nine pounds. He also found a clear favorite on the menu.“I was rocking with the hot honey chicken bowl,” he said. “I was getting that all the time.”And while Sweetgreen offers more than salads, Donahue tried to keep the experiment centered on its bowls. Tim DonahueDonahue said the variety made eating from the same restaurant for nearly a month easier than one might expect. The bigger challenge, he said, was arranging his life around the experiment.“The most challenging aspect of the project was not the food, it was the logistics,” he said.Meals had to be planned around the store’s operating hours. Going out with friends meant skipping drinks and potentially bringing a salad along. Even dates with his girlfriend took a back seat.‘Not a sustainable thing’One thing Donahue doesn’t recommend about his experiment today is the price tag.“You can cook at home and make a salad at home and spend a significantly smaller amount of money,” he said. One thing Donahue doesn’t recommend about his experiment today is the price tag. Tim DonahueDonahue said he offset some of the expense by deciding not to spend money on alcohol or other restaurant meals during the challenge. But, he admitted, it was a “very expensive” project.“Out of pocket, this is not a sustainable thing to do over groceries,” he said.Donahue also emphasized that Sweetgreen didn’t pay him to conduct the experiment. The company subsequently embraced his idea, Donahue said.Donahue didn’t begin the challenge expecting to lose weight, but by the end, the number on his scale had dropped by about nine pounds. Tim Donahue“His video inspired us to launch our own 30-day Sweetgreen challenge,” Nicolas Jammet, Sweetgreen’s co-founder and chief concept officer, told Fox News Digital. “We put out an open call for 30 participants to eat only Sweetgreen for 30 days and document how they feel throughout, and we already received hundreds of applications.”After 25 days of salad bowls, Donahue headed to his favorite neighborhood pizzeria.“A cheese pizza after a month of salads was incredibly well-deserved,” he said. There was just one problem.“A cheese pizza after a month of salads was incredibly well-deserved,” he said. Tim DonahueThe sudden return to heavier food didn’t sit particularly well.“It did make me feel quite sick because it’s a shock to your system,” Donahue said.Despite dropping weight and saying he experienced benefits, including more energy, Donahue isn’t presenting his experiment as nutritional advice. He stressed that he isn’t a doctor or nutritionist and didn’t undertake the challenge to tell others how they should eat.“The experiment was largely a fun filmmaking journey for me,” he said. “I would never prescribe this to someone.”

Guillermo Rodriguez's Surprising Turnaround on Dancing With the Stars New

Guillermo Rodriguez's Surprising Turnaround on Dancing With the Stars

Guillermo Rodriguez made it through week one of Dancing With the Stars season 35 by the skin of his teeth — but he almost didn’t dance at all. “At the beginning, I wanted to go home,” Rodriguez, 55, confessed on the Friday, September 18, episode of the “Dancing With the Stars Official Podcast.” Podcast host Andy Richter, who competed on season 34 of the ABC series, revealed that he heard Rodriguez ask to go home when they ran into each other at the airport on the way to Good Morning America prior to the season 35 cast announcement. “You must have said five times, ‘I want to go home. Send me home. Don't vote for me,’” Richter, 59, recalled. Rodriguez admitted that although he was hesitant to compete with his partner, Witney Carson, who is the reigning mirrorball champion, he has changed his tune heading into week two. “Now, it’s like, I gotta learn. I gotta learn how to dance. I gotta practice. I want to do good in the second week,” he explained. “It sucks to be in the bottom.” The Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick revealed that he is “very excited” to have made it past the first elimination after receiving a score of only 10 out of 30 from the judges for his cha-cha. However, when the names were read during the Tuesday, September 15, episode, Rodriguez panicked. “I feel good. I feel great, but when they announced who was going home, I was like, ‘Yeah!’ And then I go, ‘Wow, wait, I have five days to prepare for a second one,’” he remembered. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God.’ I’m already stressed.” Carson, 32, meanwhile, said that Rodriguez has already shown improvement and a bigger desire to compete since his initial weariness. “I feel like he’s a lot of talk, too. I feel like he’s kinda like, ‘I know, I’m tired, I want to go home.’ But he actually does want to do well,” Carson shared on the podcast. “Now he’s like, ‘I want to rehearse as much as I possibly can.’” The professional dancer, who is pregnant with her third baby, pointed out that Rodriguez is a “busy guy” since he is still filming Jimmy Kimmel Live! in addition to rehearsing for DWTS. “The fact that he’s putting in the work and putting in the time means a lot to me,” Carson added. “That means he really wants to try hard and do well.” Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Aspiring Rapper Found Dead in School Chimney Sparks Investigation New

Aspiring Rapper Found Dead in School Chimney Sparks Investigation

The body of an aspiring rapper was discovered wedged inside a school chimney in Glendale, New York, prompting a major investigation into how he died and ended up there. Matthew Collado, 29, who performed under the name A.K Nash, disappeared from his home in May. Collado had been uncontactable since May 9, the day before Mother’s Day, when he told his mother he would spend the holiday with her at his grandmother’s nursing home. When he failed to show up, his family reported him missing, which prompted police to launch an investigation. Students at the school had reportedly noticed a “rancid smell” for a number of weeks before the disturbing discovery. It was unclear how long the body had been stuck inside the chimney. There was initial speculation that the remains might not be Collado’s, but on July 29 the Medical Examiner’s office contacted his mother, Sophia Wood, to confirm that dental records proved it was her son. A spokeswoman for the city medical examiner’s office said on September 17 that the cause and manner of Collado’s death are both “pending further study.” Collado's mother discusses her son's death Wood reportedly told the Daily News she had no idea how her son died or how he ended up inside the chimney, emphasizing that he was “afraid of heights.” “There’s a void in my gut. I walk around in a daze. I still haven’t believed it yet,” she revealed. She also added that the scenario did not fit who her son was: “My son was afraid of heights so him climbing up there? That is not my son. “He hates fire. He hates smoke. A chimney? It doesn’t jive with my son and who he was.” Describing him as “an amazing son” and “mommy’s little boy,” Wood recounted his frequent calls and visits: “He’s always, ‘Hi mom. I love you mom’ … He used to go visit my mom all the time in the nursing home.” The investigation into Collado's inexplicable death remains ongoing, with authorities working to ascertain how he ended up in the chimney, what caused his death, and whether there is something more sinister involved. Trump's Bold Move: Banning Major News Outlets from the White House New

Trump's Bold Move: Banning Major News Outlets from the White House

WASHINGTON — President Trump claimed in an unprecedented announcement Friday that he was banning CNN, MS Now and Politico reporters from the White House “effective immediately” for allegedly reporting “Fake News.”The action, which if imposed would trigger First Amendment lawsuits, follows years of selective discrimination against outlets by both Democratic and Republican administrations, which included limited access to events but stopped short of a ban on working from the White House grounds.CNN news anchor Kaitlan Collins is seen in the White House Press Briefing Room in Washington, Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026. Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow.”The prospective order has massive practical implications. 11-Year-Old's Brave Battle Against Dog Pack Leaves Community in Shock

An 11-year-old football player was left with over a dozen open wounds after he was savaged by a pack of dogs while playing outside with his best friend.Banner O’Berry, from Atkinson, Georgia, was with his teammate Sunday when his four-wheeler broke down, but as they hopped off to fix it they spotted three dogs running towards them, his mom, Jessica O’Berry, explained in a Facebook post.Once the duo noticed the dogs charging toward them, they scrambled on top of the four-wheeler when one dog grabbed O’Berry by the ankle and “snatched him off,” before the other two joined in on the attack, his mom said. Her son then desperately tried to fight off the toothy pack using an on-hand pair of pliers. One dog grabbed O’Berry by the ankle and “snatched him off,” before the other two joined in on the attack, his mom said. Facebook/Jessica O'Berry“He managed to grab one of the dogs and hold it down while trying to fight the others with those pliers,” Jessica O’Berry wrote, adding that his friend stayed by him “doing absolutely everything in his power to get those dogs away.”The attack left O’Berry with 17 open wounds to his legs that required three and a half hours of surgery at Coffee Regional Medical Center. In her post, Jessica O’Berry detailed a call she received from her son in the ambulance while he was “hurting like hell” asking her to call his football coach to let him know he wouldn’t be able to finish the season. The trio of dogs has since been taken into custody for a 10-day hold by the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Danial Knapik told The Post. The attack left O’Berry with 17 open wounds to his legs that required three and a half hours of surgery at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Facebook/Jessica O'BerryOne dog has been identified as a pit bull with the other two suspected to be hound and terrier mixed breeds, Knapik said. The sheriff’s office has initiated a court process to deem the dogs as “vicious animals” and notifying paperwork has been served to the dogs’ owners, according to Knapik.O’Berry is now recovering from the terrifying attack and was able to make it to a Sept. 16 football game where he cheered on his team in a wheelchair from the sidelines.“This warmed my heart!” his mom wrote as she shared photos of him at the game, with visible bandages on his legs.

Amanda Mack's Tragic Passing: The Rare Disorder Behind Her Untimely Death New

Amanda Mack's Tragic Passing: The Rare Disorder Behind Her Untimely Death

Holy Cross volleyball player Amanda Mack died on Wednesday, September 16, after being diagnosed with a “rare blood disorder.” She was 20.  “It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter Amanda Elizabeth Mack on 9/16/26 at 9:16 pm,” Mack’s Instagram account posted on Thursday, September 17. “Amanda was a bright light in this world and will be forever loved and missed! ✝️.” Mack revealed a “major life update” on social media July 13, sharing a picture of herself in a hospital bed.  “Not a post I ever thought I would be making,” she wrote via Instagram. “A few weeks ago I woke up not feeling well. A bad headache where I could hear my heartbeat pounding in my head. I ended up passing out and went to the hospital. My hemoglobin was at 4 and my platelets were at 1. I was in critical condition. Somehow my body had depleted my blood supply and ability to clot. I was admitted to the hospital and loaded full of blood and platelet transfusions.” After a week in the hospital, Mack said she was transferred to Tampa General Cancer Institute, where it was determined she had “a rare blood disorder called Severe Aplastic Anemia.” “While it is technically not cancer, it is in the blood cancer family and treated the same,” she explained. “My hematology/oncology Doctors have said that I recently had a virus that I didn’t know I had and it caused my immune system to go rogue and start killing my bone marrow. I no longer can make red blood cells needed to survive which has also caused my bone marrow to be depleted.” Mack had two “emergency surgeries in the last week to save my life due to severe complications,” but expressed optimism after finding a bone marrow donor, which she said is “the only cure” for severe aplastic anemia.  “After I am transplanted, the donor cells will start rebuilding my immune system,” she said. “It will take several months to start getting back to where I was before however, I will be back better than ever!” Mack provided an update on August 14, saying she “finished my Immunosuppressive Therapy yesterday and came through it with minimal adverse reactions!” “Now we wait for my body to fix my immune system and regenerate my bone marrow,” she shared via Instagram. “I should be able to go home by the end of next week and get to start Physical Therapy and the rest of my healing journey! Thank you to everyone for checking on me and for all the well wishes! You all have made this whole thing a little easier .” Mack played volleyball at the University of Cincinnati and Eastern Kentucky University before transferring to Holy Cross in July.  “Cincinnati Volleyball is heartbroken by the passing of former Bearcat Amanda Mack,” the team wrote via social media on Thursday. “Our hearts are with Amanda’s family, friends and teammates.”

Millie Bobby Brown's Emotional Message After Welcoming Baby No. 2 New

Millie Bobby Brown's Emotional Message After Welcoming Baby No. 2

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi confirmed the arrival of their second child, sharing a glimpse of the newborn. In a joint post shared via Instagram on Thursday, September 17, the actress, 22, and Bongiovi, 24, shared a cute photo to welcome their new family addition. “Hi little guy!” they captioned the post, which featured a photo of their son’s hand. The image also captured what appeared to be Brown’s hand which was adorned with a ring reading, “Mom.” Earlier on Thursday, People reported that the couple had quietly welcomed their second child via adoption. Us has reached out to reps for Brown and Bongiovi for comment. Brown and Bongiovi, who got married in May 2024, are also parents to a daughter, whom they welcomed via adoption a year after tying the knot. “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” the couple wrote in an August 2025 Instagram statement. “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter in both peace and privacy. And then there were three!” In a June appearance on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, the Stranger Things star opened up about her experience of motherhood and shared the most difficult part of adopting a child. “Every journey is different. Waiting for the call is the hardest part,” Brown said. Brown had some words of wisdom for others navigating a similar journey, adding, “I just would always encourage you to understand that every journey is different. Don’t compare yourself to others, don’t compare yourself to statistics, don’t compare yourself to other families, but your baby is out there, and you’ll find each other.” In the podcast, the actress touched on how it felt to receive backlash for her parenting choices as a person in the public eye. “I was like, ‘This is vicious, you are vicious,’ and I don’t have time for angry women that just need to bring you down, especially when it comes to motherhood,” Brown said. “I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s like, I can always deal with the, ‘Oh, my God, you showed your nipples? What a bitch!’ I’m like, ‘Whatever.’ I don’t care about that, but when you’re like, ‘You didn’t put a hat on your baby?’ I’m like, ‘Try putting a hat on my baby. I dare you [to] put a beanie on her.’” Brown continued, “Stay in your own lane, put a hat on your baby and put a sock in your mouth. Sorry, the English is coming out of me, but it’s so true. Like, shut up.”

Alan Ritchson and Catherine's Heartfelt Separation After 20 Years Together

Alan Ritchson and Catherine's Heartfelt Separation After 20 Years Together

Reacher star Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine Ritchson, have called it quits after two decades of marriage. “After 20 years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” Alan, 43, and Catherine, 37, wrote in a joint statement shared via Instagram on Saturday, September 12, announcing their separation. “We grew up together, we built a life and a family together.” Alan and Catherine said “I do” in 2006 before going on to welcome three children together. “We are raising three incredible boys, who will always be the center of our world,” the now-exes continued in their statement. “Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us — or the love and respect we will always share.” They added, “The best gift we can give one another — and our boys — right now is friendship, grace and commitment to becoming the strongest coparents we can be. We also want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming.” The Hunger Games actor and Catherine further asked for privacy as their family adjusts to a new normal. “Change is hard enough without the whole world weighing in,” the pair stated. “We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion. Thank you for supporting us as we continue making the health and happiness of our family our priority.” Alan and Catherine were high school sweethearts, meeting in a shared ballet class in their shared Florida hometown. “After the millionth time of us sitting next to each other, inches away, tying our shoes — so now it’s super awkward — I was like, ‘So I heard you ice skate,’” Alan told Men’s Health in February 2024. “She was like the sweetest thing in the world.” While Alan and Catherine briefly split after one year together, they eventually reconciled before tying the knot in 2006. As Alan pursued a career in Hollywood, Catherine was among his biggest cheerleaders. “I’m delighted that this weekend the world gets to see something I’ve known all along, through many years of being his scene partner on the other side of the audition tape: @alanritchson is a dynamic, powerhouse talent with the range of a Steinway grand piano,” she gushed via Instagram in February 2024, promoting his movie Ordinary Angels. “I implore you to see Ordinary Angels in theaters, to support original, uplifting storytelling!”
