Steve McBee Sr. Reunites with Family After Prison Release Sparks Buzz

McBee Dynasty star Steve McBee Sr. has officially reunited with his famous family following his release from prison. “A little more appreciation for the simple things in life….Thank you Lord for all the blessings in my life,” Steve Sr., 53, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, September 12, alongside a video of him returning to his farm in Gallatin, Missouri. His son Steven McBee Jr. commented, “Best 24 hours we’ve had in a long, long time. So many good memories to make and time to have together as a COMPLETE family!” Steven Jr., 33, originally shared the news on Friday, September 11, that his dad had been released from custody as he posted a clip of the patriarch meeting up with his grandchildren. Cole McBee welcomed his dad home by posting a photo of Steve Sr. holding his baby granddaughter Tate, who arrived in August. “So blessed to have the family back together,” Cole, 27, wrote alongside the photo. “Dad and Tate have officially got to meet now.” The Justice Department announced in November 2024 that Steve Sr. “pleaded guilty in federal court today to a multi-million dollar fraud scheme involving federal crop insurance benefits he was not entitled to receive.” The reality star confessed to selling “more than 1.2 million bushels of corn and nearly 416,000 bushels of soybeans” to another party in 2018, per the Justice Department. Steve Sr.’s plea deal required him to pay more than $4 million in restitution, in addition to forfeiting $3,158,923 to the government. While he was eligible for as much as 30 years in federal prison without parole, a judge sentenced Steve Sr. to two years behind bars in October 2025. He began serving his sentence at the Federal Prison Camp in Yankton, South Dakota, last December. (Steven Jr. ultimately served less than a year of his sentence in federal custody.) Steven Jr. exclusively opened up to Us in July about how his father was coping with life behind bars. “Thankfully, we’re down to less than two months now before he gets out ... [He was] able to get into a program that allows him to cut down on the time served," Steven Jr. confirmed to Us. "He’ll be under home confinement for four to six months, but he gets out early." In the weeks leading up to his release, Steve Sr.’s family documented renovating his lodge and office as a surprise for their patriarch. “Got my old man a list of some of my favorite reads (about 20 more coming in tomorrow),” Steven Jr. recently wrote via Instagram as he dropped off a pile of books. “Big believer that reading is single-handedly one of the best things you can do to immediately improve your life and outlook/mindset.” Steve Sr.’s legal drama played out across the second and third seasons of Bravo’s The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, where viewers watched him turn over the running of McBee Farm & Cattle Co to his sons. Before surrendering to prison, Steve Sr. joked on Todd Chrisley’s podcast that he was thinking about his prison sentence as if he was “going on [his] sabbatical.” The McBee Dynasty star explained that he’d agreed to “plea out to giving one count of a fraudulent statement — not that we committed fraud” to prevent investigators from looking into his son Steven Jr. “[I decided] OK, get my son off of this. Get all my other people off of it. Get all the other companies [off],” Steve Sr. recalled. “At the end of the day, the buck stops with me. I take that accountability and responsibility.” He added, “I said, ‘No one else is owning this but me.’ It’s just so crazy it was based on a clerical issue.”

I’m very close with Corey Feldman — he’s, like, my best friend. He’s been my best friend for over 18 years now and I love him to death and he saved my life.” She continued, “I was living in Las Vegas, where I’m currently doing a reality show out there right now with some good friends. And I was living there and he picked me up and, you know, helped me save my dog — took my dog in – and I ended up in Ocean Side [California] getting recovery and I’ve been clean now since February 29, 2024 … He just got my stuff — got my dog and put me back in California and I just spent all that time since 2024 just recovering.” De La Hoya went on to claim that she “lost everything” as a result of her relocating to California for substance abuse treatment. “I lost my relationship, I lost my apartment,” she continued. “I was homeless — like, legitimately homeless — and I spent all the time in shelters. I was assaulted. You know, I was unfortunately assaulted.” She added, “I’m not happy or proud of myself for what happened but I’m so grateful that I have recovered and I’m here today and my journey is still in recovery. I’m so grateful to not be on drugs.” The former reality TV star revealed last month that she is currently unhoused and unable to secure any work in order to financially support herself in the wake of her addiction struggles. “I’m poor and homeless, that’s the truth,” the VHI star told the Daily Mail in August. “I’m staying with a friend, but it’s a temporary thing, and I’m in school and looking for a freakin’ job.” She added of her financial struggles at the time, “It’s embarrassing, and it’s very hard, but I keep searching. I don’t know what it is about me, but I guess God does not want me to have a job. I’d work at McDonald’s, Starbucks, anything. Maybe I’m overqualified or maybe I’m underqualified. I don’t know.” Viewers were introduced to De La Hoya when she appeared on 2008’s season 2 of Rock of Love With Bret Michaels. After coming in second place, the reality star earned her own dating show called Daisy of Love. While speaking to the Daily Mail, De La Hoya claimed she does not receive any residuals from her reality dating series, contributing to her financial issues. “It’s still there on streaming platforms, but I don’t get any of that money,” she claimed. “The good news is that I’m still getting fans and people can watch it, but I don’t get any money from it.” In addition to finding sobriety, De La Hoya revealed she’s also on medication for anxiety and a diagnosed bipolar disorder. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a chilling essay on Saturday urging AI trailblazers across the globe to commit to a three-part plan to prevent an AI catastrophe. Why is this happening? Got three minutes? That’s enough time to boost your health on a molecular level.Most adults don’t get enough exercise. Official recommendations call for 75 to 150 minutes of physical exercise a week, which can feel impossible when you’re juggling work, family and everything else.But experts agree: Any exercise is better than nothing. And new research shows that a short burst of activity can flood the blood with helpful proteins linked to heart health and protection against obesity and diabetes. Sprint interval exercise can be done biking, running, rowing, stair climbing or using other movements. They studied cycling, but the sprints can also be done running, rowing, stair climbing and with body-weight exercises like squat jumps.Participants cycled for 30 seconds, going “all-out,” or as hard as they could. Then, they received four minutes of recovery time before repeating the process, for a total of six rounds. That’s only three minutes of actual work.Get your heart pumpingHow does a three-minute sprint beat a 90-minute session?Researchers found that sprinting caused widespread changes in the blood immediately after exercise. About 25% of the measured proteins changed. Specifically, they saw a surge in proteins associated with blood-vessel growth, tissue remodeling and hormonal signaling.Many of these proteins were associated with a lower risk of heart and metabolic disorders, including obesity and Type 2 diabetes. Almost all — 32 of 33 — proteins associated with lower metabolic disease risk were altered by sprinting. The study looked at cycling in a sprint format workout. That’s a promising sign for “weekend warriors” who don’t manage intense workouts during the week.“Instead of relying solely on high-frequency exercise prescriptions, once-weekly interval training can be considered a feasible and effective alternative,” author Parco Siu Ming-fai said.
