Rock of Love alum Daisy De La Hoya is crediting a dear friend for saving her life amid her addiction struggles and after previously revealing she is homeless and unable to work. “I have suffered from addiction and I was in a situation where my addiction got very bad,” she said while speaking to TMZ in an interview published on Saturday, September 12. “I was being evicted and some really good friends of mine helped me. I’m very close with Corey Feldman — he’s, like, my best friend. He’s been my best friend for over 18 years now and I love him to death and he saved my life.” She continued, “I was living in Las Vegas, where I’m currently doing a reality show out there right now with some good friends. And I was living there and he picked me up and, you know, helped me save my dog — took my dog in – and I ended up in Ocean Side [California] getting recovery and I’ve been clean now since February 29, 2024 … He just got my stuff — got my dog and put me back in California and I just spent all that time since 2024 just recovering.” De La Hoya went on to claim that she “lost everything” as a result of her relocating to California for substance abuse treatment. “I lost my relationship, I lost my apartment,” she continued. “I was homeless — like, legitimately homeless — and I spent all the time in shelters. I was assaulted. You know, I was unfortunately assaulted.” She added, “I’m not happy or proud of myself for what happened but I’m so grateful that I have recovered and I’m here today and my journey is still in recovery. I’m so grateful to not be on drugs.” The former reality TV star revealed last month that she is currently unhoused and unable to secure any work in order to financially support herself in the wake of her addiction struggles. “I’m poor and homeless, that’s the truth,” the VHI star told the Daily Mail in August. “I’m staying with a friend, but it’s a temporary thing, and I’m in school and looking for a freakin’ job.” She added of her financial struggles at the time, “It’s embarrassing, and it’s very hard, but I keep searching. I don’t know what it is about me, but I guess God does not want me to have a job. I’d work at McDonald’s, Starbucks, anything. Maybe I’m overqualified or maybe I’m underqualified. I don’t know.” Viewers were introduced to De La Hoya when she appeared on 2008’s season 2 of Rock of Love With Bret Michaels. After coming in second place, the reality star earned her own dating show called Daisy of Love. While speaking to the Daily Mail, De La Hoya claimed she does not receive any residuals from her reality dating series, contributing to her financial issues. “It’s still there on streaming platforms, but I don’t get any of that money,” she claimed. “The good news is that I’m still getting fans and people can watch it, but I don’t get any money from it.” In addition to finding sobriety, De La Hoya revealed she’s also on medication for anxiety and a diagnosed bipolar disorder. You have a different perspective after hitting rock bottom and losing everything. And I was lucky, but I’ve had to crawl my way back and I’m still crawling my way back up,” she said. “I don’t think of myself as being famous or being somebody. Got three minutes? That’s enough time to boost your health on a molecular level.Most adults don’t get enough exercise. Official recommendations call for 75 to 150 minutes of physical exercise a week, which can feel impossible when you’re juggling work, family and everything else.But experts agree: Any exercise is better than nothing. And new research shows that a short burst of activity can flood the blood with helpful proteins linked to heart health and protection against obesity and diabetes. Sprint interval exercise can be done biking, running, rowing, stair climbing or using other movements. New Africa – stock.adobe.comResearchers examined a workout called sprint interval exercise, which involves short bursts of all-out effort followed by recovery periods. They studied cycling, but the sprints can also be done running, rowing, stair climbing and with body-weight exercises like squat jumps.Participants cycled for 30 seconds, going “all-out,” or as hard as they could. Then, they received four minutes of recovery time before repeating the process, for a total of six rounds. That’s only three minutes of actual work.Get your heart pumpingHow does a three-minute sprint beat a 90-minute session?Researchers found that sprinting caused widespread changes in the blood immediately after exercise. About 25% of the measured proteins changed. Specifically, they saw a surge in proteins associated with blood-vessel growth, tissue remodeling and hormonal signaling.Many of these proteins were associated with a lower risk of heart and metabolic disorders, including obesity and Type 2 diabetes. Almost all — 32 of 33 — proteins associated with lower metabolic disease risk were altered by sprinting. The study looked at cycling in a sprint format workout. Beneficial proteins did appear later, but it took three hours.Only three of the 33 proteins associated with lower metabolic disease risk were found to be altered after moderate exercise.The reason there’s such a big difference between sprint and moderate exercise may come down to a cell-signaling process called ectodomain shedding, researchers sayThis is when proteins already sitting on the outside of a cell are released into the bloodstream, rather than having to be made and released.Researchers believe sprints free these waiting proteins, which then tell other cells how to fuel themselves, respond to hormones and sense proteins — enhancing body function and keeping you healthy.How often should you sprint?Separate research suggests that just one high-intensity workout a week is enough to protect the heart and reduce body fat. That’s a promising sign for “weekend warriors” who don’t manage intense workouts during the week.“Instead of relying solely on high-frequency exercise prescriptions, once-weekly interval training can be considered a feasible and effective alternative,” author Parco Siu Ming-fai said. The research suggests that this approach could even lower the risk of more than 200 diseases.If you hate intense bursts of exercise, opt for a slow one for a brain boost. Research shows that walking very slowly — 2 mph to 4 mph — helped with mood, cognitive control and processing in just 10 minutes.

An attorney for Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., has broken his silence on accusations that the teen engaged in sexual activity with a family member under the age of 12. "The characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ Biermann grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case," KJ's lawyer Jason Sheffield told TMZ on Friday, September 11. "The matter arose from inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers." During his bond hearing on Friday, September 11, Page Six reported that prosecutors allegedly found video evidence on KJ’s phone of the teenager having sex with an unidentified underage relative. Per the report, investigators had allegedly discovered footage of “multiple encounters” where KJ used “predatory [and] derogatory” language toward the victim. The incident had not previously been reported, with prosecutors telling the judge on Friday that they planned to press charges. Us has learned that a judge granted KJ's request for bond on Friday, setting it at $200,000. KJ will be required to wear an ankle monitor under the terms of his bond agreement. Following Friday's hearing, Sheffield told TMZ that these allegations about an unidentified underage relative "did not result in an adjudication for statutory rape, sexual intercourse, or any comparable offense." "Any suggestion otherwise is inaccurate and creates a materially misleading impression of how the juvenile matter was ultimately resolved," the attorney said. While he has yet to actually see the new evidence, Sheffield described the video footage discovered by investigators as "more ridiculous, raunchy behavior" rather than anything illegal, though he acknowledged the behavior was "boundary crossing inappropriate." Per the attorney, KJ received counseling to resolve the matter. Zolciak, 48, and her daughter Brielle Biermann were spotted outside the courthouse on Friday, though neither publicly addressed the situation. (In addition to KJ, Zolciak and Kroy, 41, share son Kash, 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, both 12. Kroy also adopted Zolciak’s daughters from a previous relationship: Brielle, 29, and Ariana, 24.) KJ was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, in August for aggravated sexual assault and aggravated battery after an alleged incident with another underage victim at a gym earlier this year. He was immediately remanded to Atlanta’s Regional Youth Detention Center, a juvenile detention facility where he remained prior to his bond hearing. Weeks after his arrest, KJ was indicted for aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16. (He has not been arrested for the remaining charges in the indictment.) KJ has maintained his innocence regarding the accusations ahead of his October arraignment. “First and foremost, this is not the kind of information that should be for public dissemination. These are juveniles,” KJ’s attorney Sheffield told Us in a statement, denying the initial allegations. “Secondly, my client is 100 percent innocent and tried to present evidence to the arresting officer, including a passed polygraph by a notable and respected sex offender polygrapher.” Sheffield continued, “Additionally, the officer’s report notes the [Georgia Bureau of Investigation] found no male DNA on or inside the areas the alleged victim claimed she was assaulted.
